Bakers Bend
Today we are going to talk about another great place in Sabaragamuwa...
By the name of Baker's Bend...
There is no one who has not heard this name...
This baker's bend is in the nonperial...

If you want to experience the beauty of Nanperial well, you have to go on foot.
Even if the journey is difficult, the beauty is priceless.
According to the villagers, the past story here is that during the time of English rule, a white man named Samuel Baker could not control the speed of his horse and fell down the slope of this bend and died.
Hence, it was known from the villagers that it got the name of Baker's Bend.
The slope on the south side of the Nanperial road, which falls between two mountain ranges, the beautiful Hirikatu Oya flows down below, adding to the beauty of this place.
From time to time thick fog covers the entire mountain range. There's no reason to fear the sun, but you should be protected from the rain...
At first, many small waterfalls are found, but after passing the Nanperial school, you will find some quite large mind-blowing waterfalls.
After passing the tea factory and going for about 4 kms, the destination is Bakers Bend.
There are no words to describe the view here on a foggy day. That's great.
From below, you can see up to Hirikatuoy, Samanala Lake and the mountain range in front.
Baker's Bend is a single elbow bend, a downward slope of the bend.
This station is located at an altitude of 5000 feet above the sea level, but the climate here is similar to Nuwara Eliya.
This is a great place for a photographer to get creative photos.
Going further up this road, you will find a way down at the top of the mountain. You can travel to Belihuloy through that road.
There are two ways to get here...
If you are coming from Haputale side, you have to descend and come about 500 meters from there.
After going about 6 kilometers from this road, you will find the village of Nanperial and you can see the Nanperial Tea Factory.
The other time...

When you go from Balangoda on the Badulla road for about 18 kilometers, you will come across a small town called Galagama. After passing it for about 500 meters, you will come across a road called Nanperial on the left side.
This is the road to Bakers Bend.
Baker's Bend is about 12 kilometers on Nanperial Road.
If you are going in a vehicle on this road, you can go for 3 to 4 kilometers without difficulty, but beyond that, you cannot go on the road...
If you go on foot or by bike, you can see many small waterfalls....
There is one bus operating on this road which departs from Balangoda city around 7.30 in the morning...
This bus is going to Nanperial village.
Earlier, the bus used to go near the factory, but now it is not going to the top because of the road.
If you are going up and down in vehicles near the non-perial factory, you have to get permission from the estate authorities.
At the end of Nanperial road is an old bungalow. In the past, there was a road to the end of the world near this bungalow. You can reach the end of the world with a journey of only 4 kilometers. But now there is no permission to go on that road
Bakers Bend, Nunperial is a great place to travel and you can go there, but come back without destroying the environment.
