Palanichami Sarathkumar. The story behind the man who carried an elephant
He is currently working as a forest employee and is stationed near Metthupalayam. Mettupalayam is a small forest town 32 miles (50 km) from Ooty in the beautiful hills. Despite the animal's cute appearance, it weighed more than ɡᴜагd Palanichamy Sarathkumar and weighed more than 100 kg.
It was December 12, 2017 and Palanichami, the man carrying an elephant, had reached his headquarters and was returning home at night when he received a call about a small incident near the Vanabhadra Kaliamman temple. He left the baby elephant near a water hole and hoped that the mother would return to find her child. They waited for hours but the mother did not come. They all went back after some time and expected the mother to return.
They all returned the next morning and found the baby elephant. The calf left its mag next to the big pug of a big elephant. Palanichamy believes they left before dawn after the reunion.
Elephant groups, or herds, follow a matriarchal structure with the oldest female in сһагɡe. According to the San Diego Zoo, herds consist primarily of female family members and young cubs, and can range from 6 to 20 members depending on the food supply. When the family is large, herds often split into smaller groups and stay in the same area.
The matriarch relies on her experience and memory to know where the best places are for food, water, and where she can find protection from the elements. The matriarch is also responsible for teaching the younger members of her family how to socialize with other elephants.
