A missile hit a Polish village, killing two people. At first international media speculated that it was a stray Russian missile which missed its target or even that it was intentionally targeted to hit Poland. Now what would Russia gain by attacking a very small Polish village with no special significance, no military installations just farmland? Then the story has been changed to say that it was most probably a Ukrainian air defense missile gone astray.
This incident caused some very tense moments, I saw a tweet by a Ukrainian minister blaming Russia for the strike and asking for NATO intervention. Things can escalate with this kind of rhetoric. Of course, the Ukrainian government insists it wasn't them and are asking to be included in the investigation. Which is fair enough, but to be completely fair Russia would have to be included also.
I read that Western military tracking has already seen the route the missile took, so they do know who fired it, I see no reason to question this, I would think their equipment is reliable. Plus the Ukraine armed forces have admitted they did fire something in that vicinity at about the right time. To me this does not look good for Ukraine, if they did fire this missile they actually lied in an attempt to involve NATO in this conflict. This is contradictory in itself, because, you know, Ukraine is winning why do they need to get NATO involved?
But as we have seen in this war you can't believe either side, both are good at propaganda. But this makes me ask a question, what about the downing of flight MH17 back in 2014? Weren't there missile tracking systems to tell NATO who fired the Buk missile? Why need a Dutch and Australian investigation when you just have to look at real time data to get the complete picture?
It seems to me that conspiracy theorists, despite all the crap that they sometimes come up with, do have at least one thing right. We are constantly being lied to. And the press is the weapon used to have us know what they want us to believe. They being the people who do control a lot of what goes on. So don't just believe everything you read or hear, keep your mind open, there are different sources and adding up the same event from different sources might just make you see things in a different light than the official version.
