The environmental situation around the world is becoming increasingly tense every year.
This is what the Dnipro River in Kyiv looks like lately, which was once deep and stormy.
In the picture, it is quite interesting to see unusually green water, but in reality this situation does not bode well.
This is what the Dnipro looks like now, it is beautiful, but at the same time it is dangerous to swim 🤯
☝️ The flowering of water is associated with the growth of blue-green algae in it.
As explained in "Kyivvodokanal", this process is intensified due to the pollution of rivers with phosphates.
They get there with the sewage, because phosphate-containing detergents began to be used more often in households and industry.
Most of the cleaning systems are outdated and are not able to filter the phosphates that are added to modern detergents and humanity's retribution for its own negligence is approaching.
It is even scary to imagine that when humanity has a huge number of problems, there are people capable of threatening the world with a nuclear bomb.
Only sadness and anxiety in my heart.

Why can’t they introduce Chlorine or an algaeside or something to remove the algae ?
Probably, chlorine also cannot always cope with large colonies of algae. Plus, the river is quite large and additional chemistry is not always useful for ecology.
