1540 years of Kyiv

Yesterday (the last Sunday in May) my hometown celebrated its 1540th birthday.
Yesterday I did not have time to write a post on this topic in connection with the busy schedule, but such an event is worth paying attention to, because every year Kyiv becomes more beautiful, older and wiser.
On this date, the city was somewhat wounded after the Russian military shelling, but fortunately not conquered or destroyed.
I want to believe that Kyiv will continue to be able to withstand and overcome all obstacles to its development and "maturing".
Usually the Day of the city and the anniversary, Kyiv likes to celebrate on a grand scale, but this year the celebration program is much more modest and quiet.
Bloody military battles continue in the east of the country, and Kyiv itself often freezes under the sound of alarming sirens.

Despite the air-raid sirens to which Kyivans are somewhat accustomed, patriotic and cultural events took place in the city.

In the program of events, everyone could find something interesting to their liking.
These are art exhibitions, a concert from the Opera and Ballet Theater for Youth on the balcony of the theater and a concert from the Kyiv National Academic Operetta Theater.
Patriotic master classes and walking tours were held.
Museums and libraries have opened their doors, inviting them to exhibitions of paintings and folk decorative arts.
