My absence

I can summarize my absence in these points:

  • a month ago elections were held in venezuela, although there is strong evidence that the opposition candidate won, the outgoing president has done everything to stay in power. Persecuting and imprisoning anyone who has been immersed in, watched or witnessed the electoral process. For the mere fact of being a table witness, they go to your house, they charge you with terrorism and 20 years in prison. That is why many people like me no longer live in public life, we live in fear. What is most uncomfortable is to see how compatriots who use these networks, which are still the bastion of free information, do not speak out, nor denounce or let the world know what we are experiencing.

  • Twitter is censored, you have to use vpn to connect, but you can not talk about anything associated with elections or politics, you can receive 20 years in prison.

  • Again a national power outage, 17 states without electricity and there are 24.

  • Inflation is rampant, little work, so you have to be very busy in life 1.0 not to die of madness or impotence.

Very complicated, to be persecuted just for thinking differently. In other developments, the elected president has asked for political asylum, the polling station officials and witnesses, many of them imprisoned, others simply busy not to be imprisoned and frightened.

I'm sorry you live under such conditions. The democrats here are trying to make our country the same, saying all who disagree with them are deplorable and potential terrorists, and a threat to democracy. I fear soon my country will be like yours, and suspect it already would be if so many of the citizens here weren't armed.

Please keep your head down and stay safe my friend.

I feel your pain @freakeao,
I have been following the events in Venezuela on the news.
I contacted alejos7ven to share his thoughts with me too.
My earnest prayer is for Nicolas Maduro to be brought to book.
I wonder how some people sleep comfortably while knowing the masses cannot sleep because of the intense pain they bring to them as political leaders.
May God heal your land and bring peace to the people of Venezuela 🕊️

That is correct, all communications in Venezuela are being monitored, anyone who says they do not agree or if they go out to protest can end up in prison for 20 years accused of terrorism. During the electoral process many of us advocated for a change, to fight for a change, after seeing the results, the dictator simply steals the elections and turns against all those who participated in the elections and who were opponents. Many have already crossed the border, others are in prison, others like me in anonymity and obscurity. Thank you for your words and keep up the good work you usually do.

20 years is a long time, enough to ruin someone's entire life.
Please stay safe and advocate wisely.
This politicians are quite heartless.
