Çanakkale is the land where the traces of hundreds of thousands of Turkish and Anzac soldiers who revealed the spirit of "Çanakkale is Impenetrable" and watered these lands with their blood during World War I.
It is also the place where the "Trojan" War in history took place.
I was there for a business trip last summer. The aim was to see the cones on the pine trees and to make the necessary agricultural spraying.
Our journey, which continues by car up to a point, has to take a ferry because we have to cross the Gallipoli peninsula. Our effort was to cross the Dardanelles Strait of the Sea of Marmara, which separates Çanakkale and Gallipoli.
Seagulls guide us during the ferry ride. A flock of seagulls flying over the ferry for a few hours never left us alone…
…and we're finally in the area we're interested in. It's a bit foggy!
We may not need the ferry on our next trip. There is an ongoing suspension bridge construction here and it will be inaugurated at the end of this month.
Pictures are from the ongoing bridge construction!
When the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge is opened, it will be the world's largest suspension bridge with a middle span...
…and the transition from the Asian Continent to the European Continent will be reduced to as little as 6 minutes.
Our next trip could be over the suspension bridge.
