Great video. Yes. @megadrive is a Genius. Along with Jacob and all the other Founders and developers of Blurt.
Thank you! I wish I would have had my eyes open when Blurt was first created, but I allowed my judgment to be clouded by taking sides with Steem. As I said to @megadrive... Sometimes we miss certain opportunities in life because of the circumstances. What's important is that we now do our best with what we presently have to make Blurt great.
You have the gift of getting attention and retaining it. I hope to be able to become fluent and expressive as you. Audio really is more attention catching than text.
Thank you for your kind compliments; I really love podcasting - which I like to call "smartcasting" because I only use a smartphone to create my shows.
Text is great for study and scholarship, but Audio is better for communicating ideas; and Video is supreme because you can use text, images and sound!
If you want to become a good presenter, I would suggest this:
Even when you are walking or driving your car, talk out loud as if you are presenting a show. It really helps!
Thank you for these practical tips. I’ll try my hand at podcasting/smartcasting. Do you create an outline before doing this or or are all this spontaneous? And how many re-records or takes does it take to come up with something you’re okay with?
The only thing I use or need is a Title for the smartcast. It's all extemporaneous and I only record once. But as I said, I'm ALWAYS practicing, all day, every day. And it also helps to go back and listen to previous recordings to critique yourself and reflect on how you could have said things more clearly or used better words. Can't wait to hear one of your shows, Bro! 😎
Exactly! It's gametime when you hit the record button, and that's when you determine if you've trained well! 😉
Thank you for this post, it is highly relevant to the social dynamics on Hive, Steem and Blurt, fortunately Blurt has no downvotes to be used as an abuse and bullying tool however verbal abuse still happens.
Thank you very much for having taken the time to listen. I really appreciate it! This is what I love to do, when I can, and that is to offer a perspective that maybe has not been thought of. Verbal abuse is part of humanity because we have language and we have negative emotions. Not only does Blurt have no downvote, but it also removed the Reputation feature, which is also being used to judge people. I have always had a fairly positive experience on Steemit, with only one exception of having been censored. But I do not see much growth in its future because it is an American company, which is run by the popular Tron Foundation. These two factors could eventually draw the attention of Big Tech - if Steemit became too popular - who would want to control the narrative on ALL social media, and Steemit would have to bow to those pressures.
Hive has become exactly what their founders once claimed to be against: with all of the downvoting, trolling, blacklisting, demonitization and bullying, they have become a band of inquisitional witch-hunters, who want to purge their platform of all non-believers.
Blurt now has the opportunity to learn from those mistakes and become wiser. And this can be done by learning how to co-exist with abuse. Since I have your audience, which I greatly appreciate, I would like to take advantage of this opportunity to share an old idea with you that I shared with the leadership of Steemit, as well as the leadership of DTube, but for which they chose not to implement; just an idea that could be discussed, refined or even discarded. I don't feel it is an absolute necessity, but it could be an interesting approach to dealing with abuse. It was designed for DTube, but could easily be modified to implement on Blurt without needing to alter the blockchain, and by simply changing the MUTE feature so that not only are the posts and comments hidden from the account that I mute, but also my posts and comments would not be visible to the account that I have muted.
Decentralized Censorship of Social Media: A Democratic Approach
I 100% agree, Blurt would have been cooler if it started from zero and increased inflation in the first year.
Sometimes we miss certain opportunities in life because of the circumstances. What's important is that we now do our best with what we presently have to make Blurt great.
Yeah, absolutely.
being that as it may, The future is still very bright.
Another interesting point is hate speech is different for everyone. Especially these days, one thing can be hateful to someone and the same thing not to another. How do you define hate speech?
We should remember that hate speech is more about hate than it is about speech! There is a big difference between those who are outraged by what Putin is doing, and those who simply hate him because he is the boogeyman who is currently trending in the category of evil.
Because of an article I wrote about a week ago, I was almost subjected to a virtual lynching attempt elsewhere. Although I have emphatically stated that I am against the war and that the war targets the innocent, I have been subjected to attacks, slanders and insults from the title to the last sentence. My articles have been consistently downvoted, yet I have not/will not descend to their level.
In this sense, among the platforms I use, blurt offers the best freedom of expression. I published the same article here, but I did not receive any negative reaction. In other articles that I follow, there are also level discussions.
someone on my fb wrote a great post on this

I had discussed the event from my own point of view as a survey I participated in.

There's a more relaxed culture on Blurt when it comes to freedom of expression. Those who have an abusive nature soon find it boring here because they have no solid way of punishing you for your opinion, or what you share. Each one of us has the freedom to build our profile based on how we want to be perceived by those that show interest in that profile. You may come across trolls or bullies once in a while, but they are easy to mute, which empowers you! Continue to have the courage to be yourself and we will build the best cryptomedia platform ever!
There is nothing like Blurt on the planet. However, with great Freedom comes great Responsibility. People should treat others the way they want to be treated. Treat people with respect and kindness. We all fail at this…
As I said during the show, Blurt is the Mike Tyson of Social Media, and with time, patience, training and focus, we will knock-out all the rest! 😎 🤬
Believe it or not, some people don't mind being treated like shit, so they treat others the same.
We need to learn how to be kind and respectful with our own souls, and then we need to surround ourselves with people who reflect those values.
🤣 Brilliant!!! I love when people have international music appreciation. 😉
Freedom is absolutely everything.!!
Freedom is absolutely everything for those who love freedom, but is unfortunately not loved by those who want to take our freedoms away. 😊
This is really a good one!
Thanks Bro! I really appreciate your kind words and your generosity!
Freedom of expression is very fundamental to the growth of any platform.
I love the way you took us through the dynamics, it really worth thinking about. Great job👍.
Thank you!
It is also very fundamental for the growth of humanity.
Until we are all free, no man is free.

This dude is awesome! I'm learning a lot about how to deal with group differences. My mentioning of how I deal with racism was inspired by him! You must of noticed the similarity. 😉
