Talking about the dead coin, many new members would be wondering what that means. See the encyclopedia definition below.

What is a dead coin?
A cryptocurrency that is no longer viable. A coin is considered dead if the coin's website is offline or if there is less than $1,000 worth of trades in the last three months.

I feel like I am a victim right now. I bought over 4000 units of $blurt on hive-engine unknown to me that it was the dead version of $swap.blurt. I only found out when I could not transfer the $blurt to my wallet. Upon contacting @zahidsun to put me through, he informed me that I had bought the dead $blurt.

The new version of $blurt is $swap.blurt. In all you do, ensure that you do not buy $blurt from hive-engine.

I am writing this post to create awareness of this variation on hive-engine and how to differentiate the new and the old.

I wish to solicit with the tech team and developers to see that the dead blurt is disabled permanently. This is to avoid further occurrences.

Some notable differences between the two coins on hive-engine are;

  1. There is a big difference in the supplies. While the dead $blurt has 10,250,352.776 supply the new $swap.blurt has 410,475.542 supplies.

  2. The prices are slightly different. Today, while $swap.blurt was $0.04753 the dead $blurt was at about $0.03600.
  3. The market cap is not the same. While swap.blurt has a $19,509 market cap, $blurt has $369,013.
  4. The urls are different from each other, the old coin has blurt.world while the new version has blurt.blog.

Can you sell it for Hive and buy back swap.blurt or BYT ?

I see buyers :-)

Thanks for the great info. I just found out about the difference between $blurt and $swap.blurt .

hive-engine should permanently delete $blurt (dead coin) so that no user buys the wrong blurt.

hopefully soon there will be a solution to replace the $blurt that you bought

The solution is not to buy it.

I will not make the mistake again.

There are still buyers, so I hope you just sold your tokens and moved on. :-)

I sold but at a very low price, making me to loose close to half of the funds.

We are hoping for a permanent solution.

They should disable the Buy button.

I wonder why the hive-engine team kept it visible?

Even with national coinage, there is a transition period when both exist and are valid.
until one isn't ;-)
