Many community members requested to have a tool can set their recovery account, so I just created this simple tool to set the recovery account
Blurt Account Recovery: https://ericet.github.io/BlurtAccountRecovery/
Github: https://github.com/ericet/BlurtAccountRecovery
Just a note, the change account recovery request takes 30 days to take effect.
Thanks @michelangelo3 and @double-u telling me that :joy:
The source code is on github, if you don't feel conformable changing the recovery account on my github page, you can download the code and run it on your local.
I will add the account recovery functionality to the blurtwallet.com once I'm not so busy from my personal life and work.
There is another function related to the recovery account.

Does this work with the recovery account set in the tool? (Steemit.com offers no such possibility, as far as I know, only possible with an extra tool like Steemworld)
Oh, you still have time for that, unbelievable.
That's different thing. most of the steem account set @steem as the recovery account. So if the account was stolen and the key was changed, within 30 days, you can request account recovery and @steem account will help you recover the account.
The tool I created, only set the new recovery account, there will be 2 more tools, 1 for account got stolen to send a recovery request, and 1 for recovery account to approve the request and create a new key.
Ah, very nice. That's what I wanted to hear ;-)
Thanks!
Yes we need such easy to use functionality of recovery account incorporated in our blurtwallet section @ericet
Thank you for this and that soon. :D

Oh good to see somebody is working on this issue. Thanks a lot.
I an case of a compromised account, who will take care of the account recovery then?
The only worry I have is using my Master Password tough.
That would be whatever recovery account you set to. Most of the accounts imported from steem have the recovery account set to null, so if their accounts got compromised, there is no way to get it back.
If you don't feel comfortable using the master password on the site I built, you can always clone the code and do it in your local machine. You can only use master password to set the recovery account.
To be honest, I have no idea how to do it on my own PC.
So the account I assign will take care of the recovery, let me ask a stupid question: How can they do that?
The flow to recovery an account is:
okay, I guess I understood. Thanks a lot for explaining!
Btw voted for you as witness yesterday, thank you for all the good work, good to have you here!
Thank you so much for creating this tool. I was waiting for something like this.
