There must be something about living in the countryside that helps me feel more at rest. I don't feel like I'm doing too much differently. I spend more time sitting outside enjoying the view. It's a lot quieter than city life. Although there are loud noises, it's not the same as the noise of traffic and planes and general sounds of living in a large city. Even the loud sounds in the countryside are quieter.
I'm definitely closer to nature which I enjoy from a distance. Watching deer, road runners, vultures, hawks from the safety of my outdoor living spaces is good enough for me. Hearing wild dogs and coyotes in the distance is close enough.
I guess it'll take more than a few months out in the countryside for me to feel comfortable enough to wander around not knowing what I'll encounter.
For now, I'll appreciate the slower and quieter day to day living that has become my new lifestyle.
