At the start of 2023, I challenged myself to grow my investment to a million BLURT by the start of 2024. I just got to 985,000 with 8 days to go! Now I'm making last-minute adjustments to my push for the million!

First off, a reminder that I didn't start the year at zero! I was at about 530,000 BP, and I had quite a lot of HIVE left from my initial binge of purchases back in early 2022 (at MUCH higher prices). That HIVE bought hundreds of thousands of BLURT at the lower price... man, I wish I had bought it all at that price. So while it may look like I've earned a million tokens this year, it's really somewhere around 150,000 that I actually earned with my posts, comments, and curation rewards. That's still pretty significant!

Now... is there any way to reach my goal?

It was six days ago that I hit 980k. I missed one day of posting in the past week, which means if I work harder this week, I can make the next 5k in one day less - five. Assuming I keep up the pace and quality, and my curators don't take the holidays off.

So that will bring me to 990k on December 28th, if all goes well. At that pace, I could hit the million as early as January 7th. But I've got 3 potential aces up my sleeve, to make it as soon as possible:

1. On January 1st, a small power down will complete in my Hive accounts. I'll do a last minute purchase of BLURT, and transfer it to my account for powering up, then post my final outcome.
2. My wife MediKatie has been working overtime the past few days, writing up posts and comments. Anything created before dinnertime on Christmas Day will pay out in time to be transferred to me and powered up. How sweet of her to help me out!
3. My other hope is... YOU! My curators. I haven't stopped creating posts and comments that are ripe for the voting, while so many other creators have gone silent for the holidays. My content will be a magnet for any curators looking for somewhere to spend there 10 daily votes. Perhaps they'll reward my hard work by going over my posts and comments, and generously applying some extra rewards that will pay out before New Years Day?

I think with the first tactic, I can improve my progress by about a full day. That means if I get to 990k on Dec 28th, I can potentially get to 995k on Jan 1st.

That leaves the other two tactics to help me find the last 5000 BP.

It doesn't take long to rack up 5000 BP, and every bit counts! You could be what makes the difference, with about 20 seconds of clicking! You get half the payouts as curation rewards, so it's win-win.

My own votes are worth about 50 BP each now, meaning technically I could do it myself, just by heavily voting on @MediKatie comments (or even my own) for the next week. But that's jerking and farming, something frowned upon in this community... unless you're one of the insiders, and then you get to self-vote every pointless comment you ever make...

Don't worry, I won't resort to such unscrupulous methods! I've come this far doing it fairly, why tarnish things right before the finish line?

I've shown you why, if I work nonstop over Christmas, even harder than I have been, and pull out all the stops, I'm still going to be at least 5000 BP short of the million. But that amount could easily be provided by some extra voting on my content over the next few days.
