Poruwa ceremony is the main part of a traditional wedding in Sri Lanka. The Poruwa ceremony is taking place on the Poruwa. It's like a platform having so many decorations.
The groom and his relatives gather on the right side of the poruwa and the bride and her relatives gather on the left side. They perform several traditional things on the poruwa.
One of the main things is to tie their small fingers using gold thread and or water over fingers. It symbolizes the unit. That type of several traditional things happens on poruwa.
