Four Reasons Why I Hate Blurt

I have seen other similar SocialFi projects like Hive, Torum, etc and I think Blurt is where I need to be. It is a place I have come to see as the definition of what SocialFi should be.

Why do I hate Blurt 🥰?

Absence of Downvotes ( Freedom of Speech)

I moved away from a centralized Social media platform like Facebook to search for a platform where I can talk without fear of being banned, muted, or my content deleted by the platform because the government has instructed them to delete similar content, or the platform itself is not in conformity with my content.
First, I saw Hive and I thought I had seen the place that I have been looking for. Unfortunately, it wasn't able to give me the type of platform I wanted. There were many cases of abuse, especially through downvotes. Contents are downvoted not because the content is spam but because the person downvoting the content doesn't like the content. This has made some users select the type of content they share.

Blurt removed the downvote option thereby making it possible for everyone to share ANYTHING without any fear. Those who are not comfortable with the content can either engage the creator down the comment box or skip the content, or in the worst-case scenario, mute the user.

Blurt contains less spam than most SocialFi projects because of the transaction fees paid for every action that happens on the platform. Some may see this as something that creates a barrier for most new entrants but the truth of the matter is that people don't value what is free. Again, it is not healthy when people only take from the platform without giving anything back to the platform outside their content. A spammer, after considering that he will pay fees to post on the platform, and being aware that he might not get upvotes in the end, will choose not to post.

The price of Blurt is considerably low, allowing us to bag more and have enough to build a future for ourselves. Most Whales you see on Hive joined Hive when the platform was still in its early days. Today they are enjoying what they did years ago.

Farming rewards on Blurt are costly. Because we pay fees for upvoting content, commenting, making posts, etc. The beauty of this is that it discourages token farmers. It is not like other platforms where you can build a big bag once and then farm rewards for eternity. Here, you have to give out some blurt each time you farm a reward through upvotes. This balances the scale.

I believe in years to come when the world will see the beauty of SocialFi projects, Blurt will surely be where they will come to because there is both freedom of speech and also an opportunity to earn rewards from their content. Facebook and the likes do not offer this earning opportunity, at least to all, it is only those with a larger follower base that makes money there.
If you are a blurtian now, keep building, keep stacking your bag, and increase your Blurt power, the harvest season will come and those of us that persevered will reap bountifully.
