The Large Hadron Collider is enormous

The Large Hadron Collider is the largest machine ever created by man. It was designed to examine the most minute of objects, subatomic particles.

This particle accelerator has a circle of 27 kilometers and is buried 175 meters beneath the earth in Geneva, Switzerland. There are plans to build a newer, updated version that will be four times larger.

The Giant Bucket Wheel Excavator tears the ground to shreds

Bagger 293 is the world's second-largest machine. This is a titan among titans. It was constructed in Germany in 1995.

Big Bertha makes boring child's play

Bertha is the largest tunnel boring machine in the world. With a total length of 300 feet and a height of five floors, she dwarfs all of her opponents.

She is a big 7,000-ton equipment that must be transported between job locations. Her 17.5-meter diameter is huge enough to accommodate the world's second-largest borer.

"The Prelude": officially the world's biggest ship

"The Prelude's" arrival has pushed "Emma Maersk" to second position for the largest ship. She went swimming for the first time in South Korea. "The Prelude" is not a ship in the traditional sense, but rather a floating natural gas plant.

She is 487 meters long, and if set side by side with the Empire State Building, she would be 45 meters higher. She weights 600,000 tons when completely loaded.

This might just be the world's biggest motorbike

Built by Fabio Reggiani, this mega bike stands at 5 meters tall and weighs 5.5 tons. This is the biggest two-wheeled vehicle to ever travel at 91 meters.

It even features some very extended handles and a 5,000 cc 5.7 liter V8 Chevrolet engine with a 3-speed transmission. Nice.
