When a real bear market comes, several coins will go down with it, never to recover.
Therefore, while HODL is the best investment strategy for making that life-changing money we all dream of, it's not every coin that's worth holding for the long term.
Before adding any coin to your HODL bag, ask yourself:
What product does the project offer that will keep it relevant in any market (bull or bear)? would people keep using the product regardless of the current market condition? The more the project is useful in any market, the higher chance of it surviving a global market crash.
Does the project have a sustainable business model that will help it survive an extended bear market? Does it even stand a chance against the competition?
Is the team competent and committed enough to ride the project through the rough times and come out of it stronger and better?
The top 100 coins of 2 to 3 years ago are vastly different from the top 100 coins today and will be very different 1 to 3 years from now.
Judging from the above, the projects I would be confident to HODL for the next 2 to 5 years without being consumed by fear of extinction will include BTC, ETH, BNB, LINK, MATIC, CRO, SOL, LRC, etc. There are hundreds more like these to look into but these are the ones that I can think of on the fly.
Which coins in your portfolio are you confident will survive an extended bear market and why?
I like Blurt, BYT, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cosmos and Litecoin …. But Blurt is definitely the best.
🤬 🚀 🌙
I also think the Splinterlands NFT cards will continue to skyrocket in value.

Diversification is the key.
Cryptocurrency is high risk, more risk if the project aren't decentralized.
