Meet from a wall
Man discovers XIV century architectural treasure in his home
Repairs are always a difficult and time-consuming process, during that time many details and surprises can open up. One of these surprises happened to a resident of Ubeda, Spain.
Juan Francisco decided to renovate his house. But the home renovation work didn't last long, because behind the wall that Juan safely demolished, he found a basic design in the renovation. Juan immediately informed the city administration of his discovery. Needless to say the home renovation was suspended due to an unexpected discovered property.

Experts have discovered the basic carvings belong to. The face of the St. George's Hospital, rebuilt in the XIV, appeared to be hidden behind the wall of the house for centuries!
It also appeared that the work belongs to Master Andres de Vandelvir. The architect made significant contribution to the development and building of Ubeda and Baez cities. So the face found at Juan's house was made to the UNESCO World Heritage list.

According to Spanish law on historic heritage, Juan expected a cash prize from the state, which was half the amount that was evaluated in the basic carvings. However, the man had to go to court to receive the proper prize.
Four years after the discovery, this summer, Juan won the case! Once the basic carvings he found is evaluated, the man can receive 50% compensation of its value. This means that all the flaws and inconvenience that Juan and his family were undergoing basic maintenance at his home are in vain!
We're sure the money received will be enough to complete the home renovations and perhaps buy new apartments. Still, repairing is a useful thing in every sense!
