An unforgettable incident that happened 35 years ago. On the early days of starting training at Kundasale Agriculture College, 1st year students started training with the team.
There's been a little bit terrible organized rag in the Kundasala since a long time. But our former batch, former seniors, could not give the rag to our nearest seniors because of facing a criminal case. I remember putting a note on this in my previous post ('non-done rag').
In those days we thought it was okay not to rag again because that course (course) was like a rag. In those days, I heard that even (some) speakers who were in it would indulge in support of that rag.
Children who came directly in our team (batch) who had about 200 in Koham and KVS (Agriculture Expedition Officer) brothers who worked in the department for about 5 years were like half of the set. Both male and female. The whole batch, practical classes (practical training) for each subjects divided into small groups (Groups) so that everyone can mix. Evening everyone together according to the the theorytical lectures in the lecture hall.
Crop Science, Vegetable/Fruit cultivation (Horticulture) subjects should have been done in the practical period of the subjects which were planted with Iluk, Mana etc. It's like collecting garbage and burning those rods to buy coconut. Later on, I realized that if it really needed to clean those grounds, the company could have been easily done with tractors and never used them for cultivation. So that means it's been done for a rag. But that rag may have the aim to give some education. If someone has come to that life without a habit of catching a morning, giving them that training. We also made up our mind that there may be educational objectives like giving practical understanding of the farmer's hard work.
But no one willingly does the work of cleaning the forest. I'm going because I can't score names. Because 80% can't appear for exams without attending. Usually those days when you go for practical period in the morning they don't even score first. Doing it like the end of practical period. Must have thought that they would change slowly after scoring names.
Once I went to a practical period like that, the former speaker of our group took all the people in one place and asked them to bring Kathi, Udalu, Galkatu, Rekka etc from the store.
"Children, those who have driving license raise your hands".
Three to four members of our group raised their hands among the KVS (Agriculture Officer) brothers who have served in the department for many years. There are jeeps, tractors, landmasters in the company. It's more like a promotion than going to fight, disgust and pluck. To stay for those three and four others were asked to take the Kathi Udalu Reka to the field as usual.
Others are jailed for those who stopped. Shouldn't look at them too. The lines they put on others at that time. You don't deserve to be proud that you got a chance. They also just lift the collars and make the eyes small. Pulling up the mouth I will coach those who carry bad udalu.
Even after going to the field, the village we work is talking about that one by one. Some people say "I also applied for license". I had to come to this course before that work".
“I have a motorcycle license. What a pity, you should have taken it with it when it was applied" Some are upset. "Oh, we also have motorcycle license" says another one.
When you were young. Girls get attraction and jealousy that they will get. Many of the KVS brothers were married by that time. Even if it is.....
Even though people are jealous, they are excited now until these three or four people come to the field with tractors. Then you don't need to put coconut or to stab.
Here's a while, the three and four of them are walking along with Sarruth to the field. Everyone laughed at seeing the vehicles that they drive. That's the only thing, now people are hooting. Others are whistling secretly. It's a work.
These three are coming with that saint's dog smile, pushing some Will Barrow.
