Hello, how are you?
A question for you .... when you say the time for example at 9 o'clock will be the first question, you mean 9 o'clock from where? From Germany? I asked because I am from Venezuela, so I would have to account for the time difference, for example at this moment when I ask you this question, it is 5:53 pm Sunday, October 11 .

Great! Super logic question nobody asked before. The pub is going to get real international. I'm pretty sure @double-u will quickly learn and communicate the UTC concept (de, en) after this important question.

Germany is UTC+2 from last Sunday night 02:00 in March, until last Sunday night in October. So, end of this month is end of summertime here, and we are back on normal time UTC+1. Caracas is UTC-4 hours.
Plus and minus is in relation to UTC = 0, the Greenwich meridian. It is not an artitmethic differece, just a relation to the zero meridian what means, you just have to add the meridians. -4 and +2 is six hours difference.

If you are on 05:53 pm, we are 6 hrs away in the east (future) what means before you see the Monday's sun, we see it.

Hope to read you again at the right time in the UTC +2 pub and from end of October here runs the UTC+1 pub.

One problem more: We dont count time in pre midnight (pm) and
after midnight (am). We have 24 hours. 0-12 is am and 12-24 is pm.

It's easier than you might feel after my comment. When I started writing, my reply to @blessedgirl was the first reply. When I finished writing an hour later (I'm mostly in slow motion mode), I noticed that @michelangelo3 had already replied. Compared to his, I found my answer too complex and his answer had too little reference to special cases like cultural differences for my taste. So I found BlessedGirl not very perfectly enlightened and edited my answer. After brushing up on the topic quite intensively, the feeling arose, as always, that I can say so much about the various concepts of time that I have to write a complex article because the topic also contains many instructive, political facets.

If you are good at arithmetic you know that you never need real arithmetic to explain time zones. You can use your fingers to count. But I think you're kidding me anyway. Two things only complicate the UTC concept. Different time counting systems (24 hours - am and pm) and daylight saving time. Daylight saving time is the worst irritation. There were some particularly stupid governments in the 1970s that introduced daylight saving time to wake people up an hour earlier so the economy can save energy.
You never know where is daylight saving time snd summer is changing to winter at opposite times on the north and south hemisphere. This world is a very fuzzy carousel.

I'm mostly in slow motion mode

Great, this is also my time zone.

It seems, we are compatibe.

I thought I'm already good at Arithmetic until I read your comment to @blessed-girl's question.

Personally, I'm already confused about different time formats being used in different parts of the world :D

It's a good thing that there are Time Converters online that I can use to check :)

Hello blessed-girl,

double-u is already eating so I answer you. Current difference is -6:00 hours, found here.

In the night from Saturday, October 24, 2020, to Sunday, October 25, 2020, the clocks in Germany will be set to winter time. At 3 o'clock, we set one hour back to 2 o'clock. Then there should be only 5 hours difference. Every year I get confused - hope it fits ;-)

Greetings to Venezuela!

Hi, hahaha, those schedule changes confuse me. Let's see if I understood, if he says at 9 pm here in Venezuela it would be 2 am?

9 pm in Venezuela should be 3 am in germany right now. After change 2 am.
Now it is 1:00 am ;-)

Now it is 1:00 am ;-)

:man-raising-hand:
Isn't Now an additional, complicating concept on a blockchain in a world where everyone reads your words at a different time and in all cases later than now?

Right, therefore the winkersmily behind ;-)

Ah, I should start to keep attention of the emojis. After more than 35 years of ignoring them, this will be a kind of capitulation. It has always been my aim to express in words, what I think and feel and I expected the same from the others.
Which is perhaps too high a claim in the face of an advancing culture in which the written word becomes more and more insignificant.

You must also remember, not everyone can put their feelings into words as elegantly as you. ribbit🗧

Oh thank you for the flowers. I think in the future, most of the people will communicate via vlog and short clips that are broadcast back and forth like table tennis. Writing will be a complicated, ancient art that only monks can master perfectly. The letter culture ends as it began.

In between there was Gutenberg and a high culture of scriptures. I should write about it. It's a sad, deep, but also very exciting topic. Even in the future, misunderstandings will still steer communication in the wrong direction and any errors will then be corrected by:

"Oh, I didn't mean to say that! Didn't you see the letter I inserted at 01:03? You should be able to read a bit by now when you communicate on this blockchain. Why do you think I am using these characters ? "
