Last week I covered another short part of the famous hiking trail on the Algarve in Portugal. This time I only did a short walk from Praia do Burgau, a beautiful little beach in the village of the same name, Burgau.
I´ve to admit that this was definitely the most "boring" part of all the walks I did here till then. It also was the easiest and boring doesn´t mean that it is not worth to to it. If you´ve seen a big part of that coastline you get very spoiled.
The walk starts with a very steep walk through a part of the village until you reach Forte de Burgau, or what is left of it.
From here it´s an very easy walk along the coastline, with no uphill or any other difficult sections. This walk is easy makeable for anyone and the hardest part is from the beach to the Forte.
The weather wasn´t as good as usual what of course has an effect on the photos. But with blue skies and sun out this looks as beautiful as any other part of the Algarve.
Since we´re here in Portugal I was asking myself if and when it gets a bit greener here as it was so dry until just recently. As you can see it gets greener and greener.
I don´t know about you, but even without the sun I still love this coastline. Looking back towards the beach of Burgau was a pretty great view.
As there are always many junctions and pathways its best to look out for the signs that mark the hiking trail. There are only 4 signs in the same colour that literally say, follow, don´t follow, left or right. So no worries, you won´t get lost here. :)
I only walked until I reached the a beaches called Praia da Marisa that only seem accessible by boat or Kayak. Also, walking near the edges of the cliff can get dangerous as they can be quite thin without seeing it. But there are always warning signs that tell you to keep a safe distance to the cliff.
On some other sections it looked like you can climb down to the edge of the water but I did not went down there. But I found a great rock formation on a different part.
Last but not least a very important message to all travelers that fit just perfect to my last photo from this day.
Take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints!
