Sri Lankan Yaka masks

These wooden Raksha masks are traditional Sri Lankan masks that are used in many traditional events in Sri Lanka. There is a particular area in the island which is very famous for them. Ambalangoda, it can be considered as the center of traditional Sri Lankan masks. They have unique features such as bulging eyes , natural paint types, longer tongues etc. Sri Lankan culture use them to prevent illnesses and there are traditional events that are using these masks to treat mental illnesses.
