I think the bandwidth fee/tax is going to be the most problematic of all the fees. pictures are not small, videos are not small. I have taken to trying to reduce my pictures in file size and that means a loss on the quality side of the image.
I understand some of the reasoning for the fees, and I hope they decrease as they are saying in the discord room. In the mean time, I feel that now I am forced to self vote on all my post otherwise they end up being posted at a net loss if no one else votes. Even with that I am not sure how much staked blurt I need in order to over come the posting fee yet or if they have a dust vote threshold.
So now I pretty much feel a self vote is needed, and post should have no more than one pictures or the cost of posting is just to much.
edit: Also I think comments on post will also take a hit since there is a fee/tax also to let people know what you think and how well you liked their post or picture. When i figure out the vote levels and how many I can make a day I and if I will not just be burning up liquid blurt then I will vote as many comments as I can to help off set the cost of the commenter.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who has second thoughts on this...
You saw my discussion in Discord... under helpdesk...
And yes, there is a threshold of 0.02...
PS: I have your back on your posts... I'm following and will upvote you above the threshold...( and voting costs also 😳)
Thanks, it looks like posting picture could be very problematic on blurt until they reduce fees, which likely will not happen to soon. I'm still going to give it another week , maybe two.
Three days ago I transferred 40 liquid blurt, I did two post, voted ten witnesses, started a power down, cast several votes and now I have 37.694 liquid blurt.
That is 3.306 blurt used.
Author rewards pre-fee = 0.249 BLURT POWER
Curation rewards so far = 0.000 BLURT POWER
So not really a viable option, but I will see where it all goes over the next few days or weeks. But right now it does not seem to be a very cost effective system for me being only a small account.
