unshackled minds - hive v blurt

in blurt •  3 years ago  (edited)

ts350.jpg

I fitted that 350 cc engine into a 50cc frame for giggles.

But today it suits a purpose, I liken it to hive and the way I feel about hive.
I was talking to the lovely @ultravioletmag this morning about why I left hive and came here.
The bike is not fit for purpose, even after I rebuilt the top end of the engine after that photo, it is still the same, not fit for purpose.
(It would not fit in the frame now with barrels and head fitted anyway.)

But you get the picture yes?

Hive first then my own comparison V Blurt.

Now as much as that bike reminds me of how broken Hive is compared to the white paper for it "Free speech platform", that photo sums up my feeling towards Hive.

I have witnessed my friends and others abused on Hive no matter what they write about, I have also been on the receiving end but not nearly as bad or as prolonged. (The attacks - downvoting.)

There are consequences to downvoting, the recipient feels it and the psychological damage done from constant downvotes is real, and IMO unnecessary. Not only that it is not healthy when it costs nothing/is free to inflict pain on another.
If a downvote cost the equivalent of an upvote, would people be so willing to behave as badly? I think not.
I have proposed said solution many times, but kept running into a brick wall.

I watched @jasonliberty, @frot @lucylin and many others get abused just because of their opinions about the real world, or about hive.
I was on the end of a weeks worth of downvotes just because. (Of a comment someone felt offended by.)
For me Hive became so toxic that I resented logging in. I still do, but as soon as my powerdown is complete, I will bid the site farewell with two middle fingers on one hand and a middle one from the other hand and simply delete it.

I could say a lot more about the toxicity regards hive, but what is the point? It only takes a few whales to ruin any site, @onealpha-pob ruined POB with his toxic down voting, azircon, bernie sanders, the cyclist (bernies alt) in fact bernie had over 100 alt accounts he used to abuse people with on Steemit. I could go on, but what is the point.

Now Blurt.

I only came here a month ago.

I had a tremendous welcome from the off. That is inviting to say the least, it made me feel welcome, and made me invest via ionomy and hive-engine.

I have left my blurt on ionomy and hive-engine for now, thousands of them fire starters called dollars. I wanted to see what it is like to grow "organically" for now.

Sure everything I write about the reality of the current medical tyranny is not everyone's cup of tea, but if people do not want to read my thoughts about freedom they simply walk on by. Or debate me.

It made it easy my transition to blurt as a lot of my steemit - hive friends migrated here too, and some of my facebook friends as I advertised Blurt on fakebook, it serves it's purpose at times, does it not, fakebook?

In a month here I have earned as it stands today $664 and given away well over a 1000 blurt in prizes, and will continue to do so every week, because I like it here.

I have not had a single argument here, not a single bad word with anyone.
That to me is important, I like debate, I enjoy opinions, I do not have to agree with them, but the foundation of free speech is letting anyone say their opinion, no matter what the opinion is.

Blurt allows that.
I have also made some new friends on here, from all around this wonderful planet we call earth, I embrace all, no matter where they come from, or race, creed, religion.

I find blurt a positive experience, I find hive a negative one.

So that is my honest comparison.

I intend to never power down and hope one day my daughter or wife will have sufficient knowledge to do so when I have departed this world, so I am in it for the long haul.

I could not say the same about hive, pob or steemit.

Have a superb sunny day, snowing heavily here, and still got to get to the farm to feed the cats and dog, wish me well.

Any opinion regards hive v blurt welcome below.

I wrote about the economic hijacking of steem, that then turned into hive - no need to repeat myself as is documented - few cared, or even understood, at the time. What has happened was exactly as I predicted.
An economic oligarchy can only be supplanted by a bigger, meaner oligarch - that happened too.

Ignorance is dangerous - as we see everywhere.
The feeling one has a right to ignorant opinions is even more dangerous, as there is no room for change.
Just like the whole f world.

I think this sums it up nicely.

ah, Bukowski ;-)

yep, that sums up the Dunning-Kruger effect too.

Thought you might like it.

wow i see it is very scary

Safe travels to the farm and hope the animals are all good. Yeah so good having a positive experience on Blurt and seeing others having the same results.

Cheers bud, it was safe, cats fed, stray dog fed, birds fed, deer fed, so all good.
Indeed it is.

I haven't been here too long, but I don't think I've seen (or felt), any 'negativity' about the platform, at all.

That's a funny image tho - your V-sign gets downvoted to just the middle finger!
;-)

Is there any hand gesture for kiss my ass, if there is they can have that too :-)

Most of the world doesn't understand the V-sign - i think only british and the non-american colonies.
I've seen huge posters here giving it the V.
lol

I think you are correct as I can do it here and people wave back, :-)

Nice synopsis my friend, I'm also in the process of powering down and moving my blog over to #blurt. I can't see any meaningful change being implemented over at #hive - and after lurking for a few weeks I really like what they're trying to achieve with #blurt. The ethos, the attitude - it's like a breath of fresh air.

I have an aversion to drama - and there are only so many debates over whether opinion related flags constitute censorship that I can take. :D Life is short - and I have far better ways to spend my time than arguing with those who personify delusions of self-grandeur.

'Like a breath of fresh air'...That's exactly how I felt.

Thanks dude - it really is isn't it!

breathing.gif

Haha! Yeah that's it :D

Very well said brother, the community here will welcome you with open arms like they do everyone.
The bonus is also that on here the developers are approachable and reasonable, 1 of them had a couple of years torture from Bernie sanders, so he knows how not to make a site.

They seem to enjoy the drama on hive, but then again steemit was the same, like petulant little children are they not?

Welcome aboard brother.

Looking forward to your superb articles again :-)

Thanks my friend - couldn't have said it better myself! Yeah, they really are childlike - from a psychological perspective, I ponder what the draconian use of their large wallets are compensating for??

That said, there are still some really sound people on the site - and the remnants of a great community - hoping they see the light and find their way over here.

In terms of articles - I've got a broad spectrum of stuff coming up. :D

I would love v4vapid to come on over, and jasonliberty plus others, time will tell.
"I ponder what the draconian use of their large wallets are compensating for??"
Lack of bedroom action in mothers basement lol.

Yeah same here - I guess we shall see.

"I ponder what the draconian use of their large wallets are compensating for??"
Lack of bedroom action in mothers basement lol.

You might be onto something lol

lol

I experienced the most de-humanizing comment in Hive, if only hateful words could kill it may very well killed me LOL. I can't fathom why another human could say such painful things, and you are right the site is just toxic, full of Oligarchs that are egomaniacs and does saber-rattling to coerce people and destroy accounts at a slightest touch of their hairs.

Blurt in comparison seems to be more friendlier and I couldn't see any post saying the "F" word to anyone but maybe if it does it will just be a tennis play of Ef you and Ef yous while at the same time not affecting each others pockets.

I do not know, but I do know the power goes to their tiny little minds, and other whales are scared to stop it as it might cost them tokens, sick way of living, cowards and bullies, glad I left.

Yeah that is so true, the way they talk to others I mean are they happy doing it? Power really makes people Kings in their own right until they are self-made monsters.

Very well said.

I agree. It is funny to see that Hive, ProofofBrain and VerifyyourBrain are now copying Blurt with the idea of removing the downvote Button. For those with brains we have known that Blurt is ahead by a Century. The best minds all moved to Blurt a long time ago. Blurt is the Leader, the innovator, the Pioneer, the intelligent Blockchain. Ahead by a Century.

Will they remove downvotes though? This is the question.
I can see a sharp rise in the price of Blurt in the not too distant future.

The key thought process is to increase relative earning power for whales - it always has been - and that's a technical/mathematical thing and easy to lie to the proles - steem HF21 springs to mind as the perfect example.

So one must always look at the whole package ;-)

I voted with my wallet, it walked off :-) Leprechaun or what ever his name is said to me, if you do not like POB talk with your wallet, I replied, I have, I hit power down and left POB, he never replied lol, I was in the top 20 stake holders on POB, not any longer.

I was quite high up in the rankings at one one point - then alfa and his crush on me, took over...and I powered down.

I’m like #25 over there still…. Was in the Top 10 for a while but then oneAlfa started downvoting me too.

Exactly. ^This^......might be a good opportunity to transfer some wealth to blurt, though! lol

Even if they do remove d/v (which they are, apparently), I have problem with it - in so much as anything good about it, will profit the layer one oligarch despots...That doesn't sit well with me - it's like being rewarded for being a twat.
We'll see...

I am beyond caring what they do, they have inflicted so much bad blood on people, so much hate, I will never go back, the site is toxic.

Great tune, thanks for the music.

  ·  3 years ago  ·   (edited)

I'm the biggest stakeholder in VYB and am going to give it a decent go - there are some well thought out ideas behind it.

That is not to say I don't appreciate Blurt for it's no downvoting. If VYB doesn't work I'll probably invest more time and $ into Blurt. But it takes a lot of ideas and development to build a great platform, and VYB is trying some ideas that I really want to see tested out.

I'm on Blurt because some of my friends are here, but at this point am not putting much into it. This may well change, but I want to be open on all my posts as I seem to be being watched so my best approach is to be totally transparent.

image.png

Ok. That’s great, I should get a few VYB in the Airdrop. Not much though since I was upvoting most of my posts on the 6th day to give some good curation rewards to people who upvoted my posts… They seem to be very interested in how we are handling plagiarism and spam here since I’m getting questions from scholaris in my Discord DMs.

I get the impression they are open to new ideas and to trying things out, which is a breath of fresh air

Especially scholaris. I think he is the brains behind the POB and VYB operation. He is Very level headed compared to the Hive whales who destroyed Hive.

Scholaris is a superb dude, spoke to him before, yes, seems a level headed character.

Yeah… Scholaris tried his very best to help me with all the downvotes I was getting from OneAlfa…. He saw that they were completely uncalled for …. But in the end he could do absolutely nothing. I think this is when he decided to create VYB without downvotes.

Man they even got you. I know my day will probably come too.

There is a airdrop for powered up POB right? When can I start powering down my POB?

I think there was already a snap shop…. All the whales have been powering down for weeks converting all their POB to VYB.

Vyb goes live 18th

The best part of Blurt is that we can have discussion, disagreements, arguments, and nobody is downvoted into oblivion. Blurt has somehow solved all the problems that Steemit-Hive created with the ugly downvote button. Downvote abuse by 2 or 3 whales destroyed Steemit and Hive. Most of the worst downvoting offenders moved to Hive though.

The problem with hive IMO is that all the steemit devs moved there with the same mentality as that of steemit, I know it was hive devs that forked it to hive and nearly everyone from steemit followed for the free tokens.
Once in the bullying mindset it seems it is impossible to get out of it, as hive proves.

It only took 1 whale to ruin POB, onealpha.

Onealpha has now bought up most of the VYB tokens and will also destroy VerifyyourBrain. He may be doing it to simply block @frot from earning anything on VerifyyourBrain. The guy is super vindictive. Super angry, and envious of everyone that bought Splinterlands cards. He must have lost a fortune on Leo and Cub and is very bitter and angry.

He lost loads on POB as he bought in at 50 cents, yes he does not like my buddy frot or lucylin.

I thought he had a crush on me, tbh - and was just very bad at expressing himself...lol

A bit of man on man love? Think he needs to see frot in a frock for that :-)

The purple tranny and mr magoo in bed.....MMmmm...that's put me right off my morning toast...

I've just had breakfast too...

Stick some cheese on it and think foreskins pmsl.

It's really weird - I'm not going to pretend I understand this. If VYB works as it should, nobody will be able to control or destroy it. So if anyone wants to buy up all the tokens they will still be powerless. I hope.

At this point I have the biggest holding - it honestly wasn't my original intention but the cards fell that way. I don't expect to have any special powers other than being able to reward content I like.

Knowing I'm being watched, I'll be extra careful to give out fair curation. All my rewards will come from curation. I won't be earning any author rewards on VYB because I'll have to have them turned off on all Hive front ends. It's not onealpha who is downvoting me, it's a few big Hive insider whales.

It is lucylin onealpha down votes the most.

yeah, and he downvotes my alt accounts too sometimes...

but on vyb he won't be able to downvote anything because there is no downvoting

Then you found a winner site.

we shall see...

if it works it could be good, but i know we are playing with fire

I totally agree with your opinion, downvotes only damage one side who doesn't understand anything

Thank you for your input.

It makes ALL the difference .
The psychological impact (never mind monetary) of down voting is cancerous.

Although, I'm not that prominent in hive, just having the thought that anyone can downvote my post or comment without me knowing or feedback or why I was downvoted is very unsettling.

You described it perfectly for me with this:

There are consequences to downvoting, the recipient feels it and the psychological damage done from constant downvotes is real, and IMO unnecessary. Not only that it is not healthy when it costs nothing/is free to inflict pain on another.

That is the problem right there, any whale can to offence at any time, and your account is toast, seen it happen to my friends, not willing to see it happen to me.

I hope you have a better time there than they did, thanks for your thoughts.

BLURT!T

ah suzuki

Hybrid Suzuki, I call it the scoot, it does 350 mph off the top of a rather large mountain edge :-)

For me Hive became so toxic that I resented logging in. I still do...

Same here ...What a sad testament to 'social blogging platform'.

I only log in to go to the wallet once a week to cash out.

I will not go quietly...lol...and I advertise blurt there

I just got a 7 day ban on fakebook for calling my own bike fugly, seems my bike has feelings, the charge? Bullying and harassment lol

fuck off ! ...seriously?..lolol

Yep but it was over turned by the admin of the group, I could not appeal, so my judge was some numpty head that runs a group in the UK for fucking mopeds, I could not make this shit up if I was smacked out my head on cocaine.

This is funny. How can you talk about your bike like that.

Because it is mine, and an inanimate object?

What would be interesting to watch on there if they did get rid of dv, is people showing their true colours, not just pretending they are nice so they do not get downvoted.

They are launching a new token a platform with no down vote a spin off of Proof of Brain. They are airdropping for pob too. Lets see how it goes for them.

So essentially like blurt, but the toxic accounts enriched through nepotism and manipulation so far, continue to succeed off other peoples efforts (if the token price goes up).

Something about that 'sticks in the craw' for me.
It's like rewarding thieves for stealing your TV by nipping around to their gaff, and then fixing up their house..lol

Yeah when you put it like that it still stinks.

I wish it wasn't so - I think trost, scholaris, calumman, and others have nothing but the good intentions - but the reality, is the reality.

....Saying that - scholaris has already intimated at a possible split off the hive blockchain - that changes everything.

The damage is done for most, I for one will never go back there.

Same here.
It ain't my 'home' anymore .

Home is where the heart is, or as was sang, where ever I lay my hat, that's my home.

'Pretending to be nice' for the midwit , is a default setting in life, not just for on hive.
'Keeping up appearances' is their ethos.

I have skid marks in my pants!

Too much information...

Wait, I have not sent you a selfie of my sweaty balls yet, ready?

As always, thank you kindly.

Glad you are enjoying your time here. Bring over your blurt and power up and start curating. That is organic growth too.

I will do soon, just want to do a 2 month experiment so I can advertise blurt with real statistics.

As I was downvoted they shared popcorn and made mockery of me until I abandoned the account, I don’t want to use the word depressed but whenever I tried to chat them on discord I had shivers rundown my spine. It was tormenting me psychologically and I had no choice but to quit. No one deserves that kind of bully even if they re constantly warned. The atmosphere here is welcoming, ideas and suggestions re welcomed everyone is important.

Blurt!!! 🚀🚀🚀
🤬🤬🤬

They have no shame when abusing people, it shows even ordinary people when given a slice of power act badly towards others, anyway, you have found a good home now, enjoy the ride brother.
