During the coronavirus pandemic, there was an online exhibition called "Maskeschön" by Auropolis.
The aim was to integrate the face mask into the artwork and give it a positive connotation.
Socially critical, religious or negative statements were not welcome.
I took part in these works:
In December 2022, people in Iran were fighting for freedom and a self-determined life.
Mohsen Shekari was executed on December 8, 2022, for taking part in protests against the government. He was 23 years old.
Majidreza Rahnavard, also 23 years old, was publicly hanged a few days later.
The brutality knows no bounds.
Even children and young people were/are shot and beaten to death.
That's why I took out the masks again and made collages.
This time I was free in the design...
Zan Zendegi Azadi
(that's Persian and means "woman life freedom")
Jin Jiyan Azadi
(which is Kurdish and means "Woman Life Freedom")
