An internal and external military style latter would be great. An added filtration system could be added before it gets into the tank. Maybe an extra tank for that purpose would be beneficial. There is also heavy metals in the water. Ground water doesn't necessarily mean clean drinkable water either. Humans are very pollutant species.

Good points Yayo, of course I just wanted to keep that obvious stuff off so that the image i created is straight-forward for people as possible. One thing to note though is that the addition of a filter adds resistance, so the current pressure must be equally increased.
I remember in the 70's when we still drank from the hose out in the garden, it was direct well water. Sadly, I think those days are over now, I just wouldn't feel safe drinking all that drug laden groundwater anymore without some thorough professional tests done first.
I don't blame you. I don't trust it either. But I still take a swig every now and then when needed. Not from city water though. The most I'll do with that is wash my mouth with it when I'm nowhere near drinkable water.
What this world needs is more uses for using recycled materials. Reduce consumerism by building products that last lifetime or more, durable, etc.
I don't know what other ideas to add but maybe brushless motor to pump water but that would defeat the purpose of this system if added before the tank. Unless your dumping into something uphill far away.
