Christmas oh christmas is one of the festive period we always look forward to, it always look like a little vacation from work to some, while to the little ones it is always the most joyous period. When it come to Lagos and around this period, it is always obvious people are always looking forward to this and you will se them parking stuff or should I say getting prepared, if you have to travel outside Lagos, they always advice to leave early like some week before the christmas week or you will have to sleep on the road, I even thought it was superstition or maybe they were just joking until I decided to try it out. Most times, I always leave Lagos to home during mid-december since I don't have any office work to do, so I'm always free to move around unless my guys who have office work ask me to wait for them so we can go home together.

This time around they had lot of work to do so I just decided to wait for them as usual, they were done around the christmas week and we pack our stuff and ready to say goodbye to Lagos, that day I forgot to check the map to see if there is any red or yellow line which usually indicate traffic or stand still, it was a free ride from inside Lagos to the main expressway which is the longest drive, but what we weren't expecting was waiting for us ahead, God it wasn't a traffic or hold up, it was a full stand still, one of the stuff drivers fear the most, you get to be in a spot for minutes if not hours and you will be moving the call small small, one reason why people don't like standstill is because it is time wasting and also fuel consuming, if you off your car during that period and others cars move a bit and you didn't move, they will just be raining thousands of curse on you.

I wish I left earlier that day, 45mins drive turn to 4hours and at some point I lost count, we will step out at times to get fresh air, see what other drivers were doing, some were evening discussing, trying to ask around what is actually going on in front, well I got tired but can't just give up, the moment we came out of the stand still and saw the truck which call the whole issue lying on the road, we just gave thanks to God there were ways to still move and we didn't have to turn back, we love traveling but we just don't like getting stuck.
