I was off Blurt for a while last year because I was working a volunteer residency at the local art association. The studio went on location. I made a couple hundred paintings, my favorites being a series of large “abstract expressionist” works.

I was so frustrated at being Stuckist. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t seem to take the figure out of the painting. Today it hangs in my living room, above the couch. Before my catnap each day I lay down and look up at countless figures prancing about the canvas.
So much for abstraction!
