Last month, I embarked on a memorable journey to Cox's Bazar, a coastal city known for its breathtaking beaches and vibrant culture. Eager to explore beyond the bustling city center, I set out to discover the tranquil beauty of Jhau Bon aka the evergreen mangrove forest located near the pristine shores.
With anticipation in my heart, I embarked on a leisurely walk through the mangrove forest. Though not a dense forest in the traditional sense, Jhau Bon offered a unique ecosystem of Tamarix Dioica, a twiggy shrub that thrives in saline habitats.
It was fascinating to learn that these mangroves serve as a natural barrier, protecting the shoreline from cyclones and other natural disasters.
My day trip to Jhau Bon was a delightful escape into nature's embrace. Cox's Bazar's evergreen mangrove forest offered a serene sanctuary where I could unwind and connect with the beauty of the coastal landscape.
