Introducing Private Messaging on Blurt: Enhancing Community Engagement

in blurt-192372 •  3 months ago

Hello Blurt,
I woke up this morning with a beautiful proposal I have for the Blurt Blockchain.

I gave this same proposal to Hive some days ago but didn't really get the attention that was needed or that I hoped for. So this morning, I just decided I should share it with my own family here on Blurt and see what they think about it.

When I read a comment, I replied and immediately, and a thought just hit me. What I thought was, what if I was able to message someone privately and chat about some stuffs concerning the Blurt Blockchain and some ideas too, so I decided to make this proposal post to our blurt leaders.
I really hope this reaches the right people so that they can put it into consideration.

Introduction:

As we continue to build and grow our vibrant community on blurt.blog, it's essential to prioritize features that foster meaningful connections and seamless communication among users. One crucial aspect missing from our platform is private messaging. In this proposal, I'd like to introduce the concept of a private chat tab, enabling users to engage in one-on-one conversations, further enriching our community experience.

The Need for Private Messaging:

  • Facilitate personal connections and networking
  • Enable private discussions, mentorship, and guidance
  • Enhance collaboration and project planning
  • Provide a safe space for sensitive or confidential conversations

Proposed Feature:

  • A dedicated "Private Chat" tab on user profiles
  • Ability to initiate private conversations with any user
  • Real-time messaging with notification alerts
  • Optional: End-to-end encryption for added security

Benefits to the Blurt Community:

  • Deeper relationships and networking opportunities
  • Increased engagement and user retention
  • Improved collaboration and innovation
  • Enhanced user experience and satisfaction

Implementation and Next Steps:

We can explore existing solutions, such as integrating a third-party chat service or developing a custom solution.

Conclusion:

Private messaging is a vital feature that will elevate our community's overall experience. I believe this proposal has the potential to significantly enhance user engagement and satisfaction on blurt.blog. Let's work together to make private messaging a reality!

@sagarkothari88 has been working on something like that. If I remember correctly, it's integrated into the Blurt mobile app that he's developing. It uses transfer operations with encrypted memos.

it was already developed, done & deployed long ago.

Step 1: Open Blurt App

Open this link https://app.blurt.blog

Step 2: Drawer menu

Open Drawer menu, Tap on Blurt Chat, Provide Memo keys if you've not provided.

Step 3: Load Messages

Load messages & click on load more to load recent chats

image

Step 4: one to one chat

send messages to one to one chat.

this will be end to end encrypted chat

Also please I wish to ask if the Blurt keychain app no longer available on Android!! Because I can't find it on playstore and when I click the link to it, it says "not found"

The app is called Blurtkey, and it should still be available. On the Apple app store it's called IMT ASE BlurtKey, but I think it's just called Blurtkey on Android.

It was developed by @eastmael, so he would know the status of the app better than I do.

Okay sir thank you for the info 🙏

Were you able to find it?

I just went to the page of @eastmael and checked out this post https://blurt.blog/blurtopian/@eastmael/blurtopian-dev-blurtkey-v1-0-0-official-app-store-release-2024-02-15
Which talks about Blurtkey, so I clicked the link that leads to the app on playstore and it still displays the same as all the other links I've tapped.
Here's what it displays

And also when I search the name normally, it doesn't appear. It instead show the results of other stuff

@eastmael
Is this true? If not, Can you help him here?

Okay sir. 2 days ago when I replied to your message saying it was fine, I did a factory reset on my phone. I was trying to fix a "No Sim Card" problem in my phone, even though it didn't fix the issue, what I'm using right now is a hotspot connection from another phone. So I just logged back into my blurt sites today and when I tried sending a message again, it keeps loading like forever 👇
