Introduction
Hello Friends,
It's another free day for us here in Bamenda-Cameroon. It's been quite a long week of sitting at home in fear and panic, for any uncertain thing that might happen. Tomorrow, we'll have to continue with the second week of the Lockdown, but we thank God for everything and for preservation, and we pray He'll keep preserving us.
Morning Session
I woke up this morning at 4:00am cause I had to pray and prepare for church service. I prayed for the church and for the instrument I played at church today, which is the piano 🎹. I prayed for about one hour and when I was done, I learned some stuff about the programming language Python. The two main things I learned about was;
- init function
- build-in functions
I did that for about one hour too. After learning about the programming language Python, I started by brushing my teeth, doing my morning chores, and then taking my bath, which also lasted for about an hour. So at past 7:00am, I was done with everything thing I had to do home, and I was ready for church.
The church I go to normally starts at 8:00am, but the reason why I had to go early is because, I am an instrumentalist, and I need to go make sure my instrument is set, and all the mics that will be used by the choir and pastors too are set before church service starts.
Unfortunately for me, after moving about 200 meters away from my house, I saw a motorcycle that I could pay and reach my church, because my church is really far from home. So as I was about to climb the motorcycle, my trouser 👖 got torn in a very bad way 🤦😅. Due to that, I had to go back home and change my trouser. When I changed the trouser, I rushed and took another motorcycle, and finally reached church. When I reached church, I and my fellow instrumentalists had to set up our instruments.
When we finished setting up, I just sat on my keyboard 🎹. The church was still a little bit empty, so I and my crew were just playing some soft worship songs.
Christians later on started coming, and at exactly 8:00am, the service started. The service was a very interesting one. The pastor preached on the topic "Ambassadors Of Heaven On Earth". The sound quality and the music we produced today was also really amazing.
Afternoon Session
So at exactly 12:00 noon, the church service ended, and I walked to some people and greeted them. After all the greetings, I started parking my music stuff so that I can go for our band rehearsal which was scheduled for 1:00pm. So as I left church, I didn't go to the house directly. Instead, I went straight to the rehearsal venue.
So when I reached there, we prayed and started with some vocal exercises first.
We did that for about 10 minutes and then we started rehearsing some songs. We rehearsed about four songs today, which went quite well. When we started rehearsing, the owner of the rehearsal space came and put on some beautiful colored effect lights, that flipped the atmosphere.
The rehearsal session went on for about 4 hours 30 minutes. The reason why it extended this long was because, we had some electrical power failures. Our normal rehearsals go on just for 2 hours, but didn't go as planned today because of the power failures. But the good thing is, we rehearsed all the songs that we had to do.
Evening Session
Well, there's nothing much to tell about my evening since it was all spent in the rehearsal space. But I think the most significant thing that happened to me after the rehearsal was, I was mercilessly socked by rain 🌧️. After the rehearsal, we left and when we were just about 2 minutes away from the rehearsal space, heavy rain started falling. So, we rushed and entered a taxi to go home, and when I reached my own place to step out, the rain was still falling really heavily but I had no choice than to come out. So when I stepped out of the taxi, I was about 5 minutes away from home. I started walking and running home because it was already late, and it's not really safe to stay out late in our area.
So finally, I reached home with my whole body wet. I immediately changed my clothes and made some hot tea ☕ to help calm down the cold in my body.
And that is how my day went...
