I lost my Belgian Shepherd, who I grew up with until I was 15. My father had rescued him at a very young age from an abusive owner, and he was truly a member of our family. Later, my father came home one evening with a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy, thinking it would ease my pain. That puppy brightened my life for 13 years.
