Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a threat to humanity in many ways. The populace at large has seems AI as an assistant or even a novelty when it's so much more serious than that.
AI is a threat to our jobs, way of life, privacy, economic system and health. AI chatbots are also a threat to our very social fabric.
Many founders and principals at tech firms including Google are warning snout thr danger of AI and AGI, and we need to take a stand in our community.
We are a ways off from AI dominating the planet. It has been estimated that OpenAI's ChatGPT has a measured IQ of 155. The average human has and IQ of 100 and Einstein had an IQ of around 160. We need to be careful, as Moore's Law shows that this AI intelligence will increase rapidly.
Once AI achieves an IQ of around 400-500 it can be expected to perform in ways we cannot fathom. Expect to see fusion power plants, Dyson Spheres, teleportation etc. what need will AI have for us? Will we be pets of the AI enabled robots or will be be left on Earth as AI leaves us to travel the Universe.
