A Day in Tossa de Mar

Hello dear travelers. Located 30 minutes from Lloret de Mar and an hour and a half from Barcelona, Tossa de Mar is a wonderful town in Costa Brava. Today I wanted to share our trip to Tossa de Mar with you.

We started our quest for fun at the beach. Here sun loungers and umbrellas cost 7.50 euros each and freshly squeezed fruit juices are 4.50 euros. We tried the beach bar, enjoying our refreshing drinks with a sea view. This beach café provided excellent service. We got a full beer and smoothie for 4.50 euros each. And patatas bravas were 5 euros, my goat cheese salad was 6.50 euros. I think these prices are quite reasonable for a beach café. The sea tram was operating, allowing tourists to travel between the towns of Costa Brava. For example, you can go from Tossa to Blanes. For those who prefer not to travel by sea, there are tourist trains within the town.

This sea tram is quite popular. Many people were waiting in line to board. So what is the cost of such entertainment? We found out from a brochure that this boat trip costs 31 euros round trip. Blanes is one of the destinations. And you can travel in other directions with small boats. The cost of such a journey is 20.50 euros per person. You can also buy one-way tickets, but then you'll have to figure out how to return. For instance, if you're staying here, you can take a taxi or bus back. However we missed out on this entertainment because it was already 4 PM and the boats had made their last trip for the day.

The tourist train within the town costs 8 euros. We decided to get ice cream; a cone costs 2.50 euros, with options for vanilla or mixed strawberry ice cream. There are no cars in the town, but kids are running around so careful attention is necessary.

We set out towards the old town. There was a castle, towers and a restaurant where we could sit. There was also a museum. We walked along the castle wall and enjoyed the view of the sea and the old town. People live here and those interested can buy houses in the old town. And the walking route called Cami de Ronda starts here. Along the route there are stunning views, cliffs and hidden coves for swimming.

In the summer it's possible to reach this cove early in the morning because it gets crowded with tourists. You can reach the cove by walking along the Camin de Ronda path. It’s a beautiful cove.

Then we continued our walk in the city. It’s a very beautiful old town. We wandered around the city. We descended from the walls and went to explore the city. We noticed that the streets were paved with stones; the entire city was like this.

The houses here are very beautiful. From the windows, you can observe the lovely views of the cove. The city is very atmospheric and green. It’s full of houses where ordinary people live. There are mailboxes and addresses here. And there were restaurants where we could sit and eat and shops where we could buy various souvenirs. However the old town is built on a hill, so we had to walk uphill a bit.

It wasn’t easy to walk because it was a steep slope. We were a bit tired after eating and having ice cream. There was another restaurant here. This city is entirely geared towards tourists. Services are provided in various languages: English, Italian, German, Russian and many more.

We reached the top of the hill. You can get here from the old town or climb up a winding path from the beach. Those who don’t want to walk can take the tourist train to the top for 8 euros. Once at the top you can enjoy the views.

There were more people here because most tourists didn’t know that it was possible to walk along the walls from the old town. Most used the path from the beach. However the views from here were also beautiful. It was enjoyable to walk along the walls and take in these beautiful sights.

Then we descended to the city. There were restaurants along the way. This path was made for the comfort of tourists. It’s possible to return to the old town and wander around the city. We decided to head down to the beach. If you come here, I strongly recommend strolling around the old town. The old town is really beautiful and atmospheric. It’s definitely worth spending an extra half hour here. Walking through the streets is very enjoyable.

There are nice places to take photos while descending. There were people sitting and resting on the rocks. Some were having picnics. It’s a great place to sit and relax with a view of the sea.

The tourist train costs 8 euros to go up and the red bus that tours the city also costs 8 euros. I thought the same vehicle both toured the city and took you up, but it turns out there are two different vehicles. If you want to tour the city, you pay 8 euros and if you want to go up, you pay another 8 euros. I think this is quite expensive.

As economical tourists, we didn’t take any rides. But we did have ice cream for 2.5 euros. Our trip to Tossa de Mar ends here. Before we even started having fun, we spent 30 euros. We had light snacks, a light lunch and two ice creams. You need to budget for both fun and food. When vacationing, you need to be prepared both financially and mentally.

Our day in this lovely holiday town comes to an end. That’s all for now friends. See you in new posts.
