A SHOUTOUT to the people of BLURT.

I have been sharing here on blurt for a couple of months now and it has actually been my intention to sit down and write “this” for quite some time - but life always seems to get in the way and it keeps slipping my mind. Nonetheless and better late than never, right?!

Basically, I just want to commend Blurt and express my appreciation for the people who are involved in the building, growing and maintaining it all.

Some of you here know me well, others not - but those who do, know that I have been a part of this “blockchain blogging adventure” for many years - since 2017 to be exact, and in that time I have written hundreds of articles and contributed a LOT to this particular facet of the crypto space as a community leader. On the flipside of that coin, I have also been subjected to massive amounts of criticism, slander and downvote abuse.

With as many positives as this “space” has - there are some really dark corners in it and even darker people, which I have had the misfortune of being privy to time and time again. Now, I am not saying that Blurt does not have its own inner politics or problems - that is absolutely normal. If there were never any creases to iron, then I would say there is no growth.

So no, I am not saying that Blurt is perfect, but it is certainly not the “graveyard for losers and rejects” that it is so often referred to as by members of the “cool kids club” from the other side of the mountain.

Blurt has taken an imperfect recipe and is doing all the right things to try and improve it, rather than trying to hoodwink or bully others, by insisting that what tastes like sh!t in their mouths - doesn’t.

In my opinion, this side of the “writing world” has still got a very long way to go in terms of mindset and adaptation to what is considered commonplace in the mainstream arena - but Blurt is unquestionably the FIRST platform which has taken a large leap in that direction by developing an understanding - that whether it is by first name or by brand - every single person here has a personal vision and/or goal and you don’t nurture devlopment by hammering people down with growth stunting rules and regulations.

No large personality from the big fish arena gives a rats arse if a platform is tokenized or not and they won’t stick around if they are scolded like a naughty child in a school yard every time they share anything. There is a very fine line, but large difference between “running a tight ship” in a space versus being completely irrational, obsessive and borderline abusive about every little thing done or shared.

You cant share this, it offends us so we will punish you by cancelling you and anyone who attempts to defend you. We will shut you all up!

The real world calls this freedom of speech.

You already shared that and now it has no value according to us so you can't share it ever again because we're scared people might like it and reward you for it - again.

The real world calls this royalties - you can't force someone to keep buying your product but they can if they want to, just as much as you can keep selling it - and if they do choose to buy it, you earn from that and it is not a punishable offence.

You shared it here, so you can't share it there because we don't share our toys.

The real world calls this type of limitation "exclusivity". People, creators and business persons generally sign contracts to agree to such - should they wish to and are normally offered large compensation and incentive for such agreements.

Don't self promote in your posts in order to survive, it's spammy and considered shit posting.

The real world calls this advertising and promotion. It is how businesses and brands all over the world manage to grow.

You can't support your family and friends, only we can do that.

The real world calls this LOVE.

Sound familiar?

That is akin to dictatorship.

It is precisely that kind of mindset and manner of operation that will forever stunt the spaces who implement it. No mainstream individuals will ever give the time of day to such platforms - and if they do, it will be short lived… as it has been for so many who have “come and gone” already for that exact reason.

But, enough about that - my point is, I genuinely think that if Blurt continues in the direction it currently appears to be heading - it really has the potential to be the one which stands apart from the rest in the long run - especially in terms of broader adoption - which ultimately means "in success".

I thoroughly enjoy this space and I just wanted to voice my appreciation for the fact that you are doing things differently and you allow people the freedom to be themselves, express themselves and grow themselves (or their brand) - without fear.

Happy Hump Day folks.

❤❤❤

Until next time...
Much Love from Country Bumpkinland, South Africa xxx

Oh dear @yaynie this writing is so true, I can relate to certain paragraphs:

Blurt has taken an imperfect recipe and is doing all the right things to try and improve it, rather than trying to hoodwink or bully others,

There is a very fine line, but large difference between “running a tight ship” in a space versus being completely irrational, obsessive and borderline abusive about every little thing done or shared.

To all the whims that they put in a boot on your head to not let you advance on other platforms I would add: "I hate that you grow organically because your publications are of quality without the need to flatter the existing mafias to stand out. We will not allow this, because here it only grows and has visibility to those who are convenient for us. Understand that you are just a worker bee and we eat the honey"

Thank you for these reflections, it is always a pleasure to read you!

Incredibly well written and 100% spot on. Those who stay on these seriously corrupt platforms, I do believe it will not end well for most.

I have considered publicly celebrating my 2 year anniversary of my hive cabal expose, like full media blitz style celebration rally the troops and blast it out once again. What do you think? I'm totally up in the air, not sure if it worth my time and energy, along with the blow back I'll receive from the haters.

Best thing about my exit from Hive, is that the demon freaks got pissed how much money I was making as soon as the price hit a dollar in 2021 and downvoted me to zero permanently at that very moment (it's mostly about the bigs keeping the pie to themselves...pure greed)....so my avg exit price was near that 3 dollar peak! lol F all those dark entities as they are super dark.

Anyway, Blurt may not be this WOW, shinning star at the moment.....but once these dumb greedy competitors finish destroying themselves, Blurt wins by default; just a matter of time.

Great post and perspective of our short crypto-blogging history... It's only been 6 years since I first joined Steemit thanks to @frankbacon 's recommendation but I never got any support on Hive or Steemit... Only Blurt has supported my efforts and for that I too am truly grateful.

Haven't been around on Blurt for a long time myself yet, but the welcome I have received so far is overwhelming, so seems like a great place and much better place to start for someone who is new to crypto blogging compared to platforms such as Steemit and Hive (at least based on my experience so far).

Nicely written @jaynie and you couldn't be more precise.
