Hi Blurtians! Welcome back! A few years ago, (like 5 years ago), when I was starting with my art journey and drawing more, I distinctly remember trying to draw this portrait of Taylor Swift with a pencil, but her face turned out so disorientated, that I remember that frustration until this day.
It went uncompleted and I put it aside and said I was going to get back to it, but never did. Not drawing a portrait of that face ever.
Now, years later, once I got a bit better at art, I decided to draw that face that I avoided, in watercolor from Taylor Swifts album "Speak Now" in my sketchbook and ended up being very proud of it! Ever since then, I continued drawing and painting Taylor so much, first of all, because it felt good and kinda rebellious to my past self saying something like "look where I am now" I suppose. 😂
In this post, I'd like to showcase (almost) all the portraits I've made of the same person, but in different eras of my life. Starting from older, to recent. Enjoy!
Speak Now
This is the watercolor painting from "Speak Now" that I was talking about, that broke my uncomfort of drawing this person that haunted me lol.
Red (Taylors Version)
In these two portraits and the one below, I painted on normal printing paper with some of my cheap watercolors, similar to Crayola. In the last picture of this post at the end, (my most recent one), you might notice that the colors pop more, where I got to use better quality watercolors. 😊😁
Evermore
This is the album cover from "Evermore" that I did in watercolor & ballpoint pen. I remember being very proud about how she is super sharp and in focus, but how the trees in the background get blurrier creating the effect of depth.
This is a random portrait I did of her from a picture I found on the internet, that I did in colored pencils. I don't really seem to do colored pencils that often, so I thought it would be nice to refresh that a bit. I also partly made it because I have a friend whos' literally a mega-massive fan of this singer, so I sent it to him for fun. What do you think of it?
1989 (Taylors Version) ~ My most Recent One
To me, I really like how those skin shades jump at you at the joyful vibe it got. Probably my favorite, but all of these paintings played a crucial role in my advancement.
What do you think? Is there anything that you would add to one of these paintings? I'm open to criticism!
Thank you for reading my post, enjoy your day! :)
