Ayer se presentó en la sala de urgencias una señora con un fuerte dolor en la espalda que le restringía el movimiento. Estaba acompañada de su hijo y él le comentó al médico de turno que su madre se había resbalado mientras realizaba la limpieza general en el sitio en donde trabaja como parte del servicio doméstico.
Los resultados de los estudios de imagen que pidieron para ella arrojaron que no se trataba de fractura, gracias a Dios, así que después de algunas horas, ella pudo regresar a su casa con medicación oportuna y con un poco de alivio en cuanto al movimiento... el doctor le recomendó reposo por lo menos un par días, pero según sé, ella dijo que no podía faltar a su trabajo porque podrían despedirla.
Trabajar en esa condición solo producirá más lesiones en vez de un proceso de sanidad óptimo, pero entiendo su postura porque hay lugares de trabajo en donde los empleadores no son conscientes de la labor que realizan sus asalariados y de los derechos que estos tienen porque no son máquinas, sino seres humanos. Me gusta mucho la visión de lo que dice este video con el título de: "Sin nosotras no se mueve el mundo".
El trabajo doméstico es una labor fundamental que sostiene muchos hogares a nivel mundial. Quienes se dedican a estas tareas realizan una labor invaluable, a menudo invisible, el cual que permite a muchas familias funcionar de manera más fluida incluso en la administración del tiempo. Limpiar, cocinar, lavar, planchar o ir de compras con una lista programada, cuidar de niños o personas mayores, son solo unas de las tantas tareas que el servicio doméstico realiza en medio de una fuerte exigencia no solo que involucre la destreza física, sino también la paciencia, empatía y la organización.

Siempre en mi mente está el dicho que afirma que todo lo que se siembra se cosechará tarde o temprano, así que actuemos de la manera en que nosotros queramos ser tratados....
