Takers - Seeking authenticity in action movies!

The story of a team of professional robbers, the place they choose and the plan they make for their last big score is the story of the 2010 movie Takers. We know that even though the stories change, the phrase “the last job” never changes and the end never comes! Enough of these hints.

In the action-crime-thriller genre movie, betrayal is the most common theme and the betrayal in question; I can say that it is related to both the work and love lives of a group of friends. The love-related betrayal is dealt with quite superficially between the characters, but the work-related betrayal alone directs the action part of the movie and the personalities of the characters.

The character, who has been in prison for a long time and feels betrayed, plans a bank robbery as a last hit after being released from prison and tries to realize the plan with his friends whom he accuses as traitors; I can say that this is the only uniqueness in this kind of movies.

I think it has a lot in common with other movies with a similar storyline: clever robbers, a near-perfect plan, a last job and things going wrong.

In spite of everything, Takers managed to be one of the standout productions thanks to its smooth pace, realism of the action scenes and superior acting performances. Idris Elba was my favorite actor in the movie with his more mature and strategically superior performance. The scenes with Chris Brown in the action side of the movie were worth watching.

The way the team worked and some of the scenes were reminiscent of a few productions that we had already remembered. In this sense, the movie sometimes gave me the impression that it was breaking away from its own story. There were moments when the story left me feeling empty, but I must say that it recovered quickly thanks to the fluidity and individual actor performances. These are the only criticisms I can make about the movie, but I liked the movie in general.

I can't say that the script is one hundred percent original, but I think there are small details in the story that will create originality. How accurate it would be to expect one hundred percent originality would be a separate discussion.

There was no mystery factor in the story of the movie because the betrayal directed the movie too much and the audience was made to feel it more than necessary. From the moment the old friends get together, you realize that they are going to betray each other, and you realize that this is going to be revenge for a betrayal that was thought to have happened before. The movie would have been much more successful if the progression and the ending could have been concealed a bit.

I recommend watching Takers, which I think adequately meets the action and crime genre. Don't expect too much from the story, everything is handled and reflected in a straight logic framework, but it still provides a pleasant time.

Thank you for being here and reading. Have a good weekend, take care and goodbye!
