Out of the Blue

Unlike its predecessors, Out of the Blue, which tells the story of a well-ordered life being turned upside down as a result of meeting the wrong person at the wrong time in the right place through various intrigues, was a production that I found successful and unsuccessful.

I liked the plot and the mystery of the film, which managed to keep the big picture hidden until the last moment. The fluency of the story and the dialogues were successful. I did not like the performances of the actors, the constant close-ups of the actors and the projection of the same image more than necessary. It is off-putting while watching the movie and reduces the impact of the dialogues.

Connor (played by Ray Nicholson) is a character who has just been released from prison and can be considered as a prisoner of fate. He is trying to organize his life and get rid of the law enforcement officers who are constantly harassing him as much as possible.

In what I describe as a wrong time, right place, wrong person scene, he meets Marilyn (played by Diane Kruger), a beautiful woman. During this meeting, the only shot I saw as the right place was the perfect beach scene.

The movie has a flowing story with its intrigues and the characters constantly going after each other, but the harassment and threats of the local police, which I found quite pointless in the story, made you lose track of the movie during the viewing.

Right from the start, the love scenes between Connor and Marilyn's characters create a tendency to unravel the mystery of the story. The fact that this is presented like a puzzle piece increases the pleasure of watching the movie, but the fake look of the actors' performances distracts you from the story every now and then.

What could have been a more successful production fails to rise above mediocre because of the amateurishness of the filming and the performances of the actors. The appearance of the actors, who are unable to fully inhabit their characters, is insufficient to draw the audience into the story. Despite this, the dialogues between the main characters were successful.

Actually, you understand exactly what I want to say better in the final scenes of the movie. The only thing that made me initially inclined to watch the movie was the mystery that I thought was successfully added to the story. I can also say that it was because I had seen one of the old versions of the movie and partly remembered it.

I leave it to you to decide whether to watch Out of the Blue or not. In general, it is a production that does not rise above mediocre. Nonetheless, I would advise those who are going to watch it to be careful who they watch it with because it has a few disturbing scenes.

Thank you for being here and reading. I hope you are having a good weekend. Take care and goodbye!
