**What age is too late to learn Piano? Is it too late to learn Piano?**

Greetings dear friends, today I started Piano lessons and would like to share a little of what I learned, with you. Infact today was such an amazing day for me. Learning piano has came as a dream come true. I have always had the passion to learn Piano, and did nurture this passion driven curiosity till today. As a matter of fact when my eldest Sons became professional keyboardists, I found it difficult to ask them to teach me but would prefer my daughters to give me the basics before I contact their elders. This dragged for to long till today that I have to formally start my piano lessons as a beginner.

° I realized that it is never too late to start piano lessons for beginners. For children, starting after eight will actually be better, depending on their interest and maturity level. And as elders and other ages, one of the best way to teach or learn piano is through a mix of dedication, practice, and curiosity.

First and foremost, get your hands on a good beginners piano book or online course, if you can't afford an instructor around you. Having structured lessons will lay a solid foundation and help you understand the fundamentals of music theory and proper placement.

Today as a beginner I learned the layout of the keyboard. And would be learning the musical alphabet and how to form the scales and simple chords. I hear it is tedious but knowing them will help me familiarize myself with the keyboard.

° There are 88 keys on a keyboard, 52 White keys and 36 black keys. The natural notes on a piano are the white keys, which are labeled A, B, C, D, E, F and G. The black keys are referred to as sharp (#) or flat (b) notes and are labeled based on the white key adjacent them.
° However for a beginner like me 66 keys are sufficient for learning to play and I can play most music on a 72- key instrument.
