Wonderful piece of Hollywood from the golden 90s years. Vaguely based on a true story! Hahah.

A lot of fun. Don't make them like this. Watching Jacobs Ladder now which has a different feel. How have you been?
I rented Jacob's Ladder on VHS just after it left the "new releases", so probably 1992 or 3. I would have been in first year of college, and this would have been my first experience with conspiracy theories and government coverups. I didn't really get into more of that stuff until later, but it probably helped plant a seed. I've seen it a couple more times over the years, including last year with my wife. She "came out" the same year as that film : P
I'm not great, but trying to look forward and think positively. My heart surgery is in August so I'm getting ready for the trip to Vancouver. I have arrythmia about 1/3 of the time, seemingly random. Sometimes just a few irregular heartbeats, sometimes it's nonstop out of control for hours or even days. Then I'll get a few days completely off, or with only minimal symptoms. I can't do much of anything while it's happening... can't sleep it off, can't really walk or work, can't think or concentrate or make complex decisions, can't play, can't meditate, the list goes on. Basically you're a useless nobody, just twitching and gasping in the corner, waiting to become a functioning human again. It sucks. Then there's the heart failure (leg swelling, congested feeling, short of breath, no strength, etc) and of course my nerve problems (chronic pain, unwanted movements, vision problems, etc etc). But if the surgery fixes the arrhythmia, I'll be a new man, I swear. If the heart is beating properly, I'm not a useless lump in the corner about 8 hours a day, and the heart failure should (hopefully) go away too. Then I'll just have my nerve issues to deal with, but that's been going on since 2016 so I'm kind of used to it. The heart thing has been since 2021 and REALLY debilitating.
Anyway, sorry you asked? LOL
How about you, what's new down there?
Not sorry. I'm praying for you and know about chronic illness. A family friend lost his vision to diabetes recently and it's terrible to watch.
We have been busy and I'm focusing on work and family. Watching some classics and enjoying the end of a long hot summer of 110 degree days and 90 degree nights.
Thanks man!
Whoa, that is hot. Sounds similar to what my buddy in Healdsburg CA has been going through. I guess it's pretty widespread. Everywhere around me is bad too, but my particular spot has been fairly mild this Summer. Sorry about your buddy losing vision.
