Would that include holding grudges?
I guess one way to do away with vengeance, cursing, and grudges is... forgiveness.
Some horror stories, while looking shallow and juvenile, are actually allegories for our own lives and the horror we can put ourselves in.
Regarding Thinner, I don't even know if I've seen it. Saw a few good King films in the 90s, a few dumb ones too LOL

I agree. Forgiveness is the goal, and is essential to move on. This film highlights the folly of revenge, as the protagonist ends up inadvertently killing his whole family and his doctor friend as well as himself while pursuing revenge. He lost his soul for it, and forgiveness sets us free.
