If there is something I really love about my beloved country Nigeria, it is the fact that God blessed us with a balanced climatic condition. What do I mean by that? Often times you will hear about some countries who are extremely cold. Examples like Canada, Russia, Iceland and many more. Also often times we will hear about countries that are extremely hot. Examples like Pakistan, Ukraine and many more. But when it comes to Nigeria, I think I can vividly say we really have a balanced climatic condition. We are neither too cold nor too hot. Everything is balanced.
Majorly in Nigeria, we have two major seasons which are the rainy seasons and the dry seasons. Some countries call it the autumn and spring seasons. For some countries also, they have three seasons in a year. They call it the Spring, the autumn and the winter season. Well as a Nigerian, we grow up knowing only two major seasons which are the rainy and dry seasons. For many of us, changing seasons offer a lot of magic beyond what we know.
Every season in Nigeria whether it is the rainy season or the dry season, every season have their own way of changing our mood and the way our environment looks like. Let me start by talking about the rainy season which is always called a renewal season. Every March to around October every year, there is always the giving of rain from the cloud to the ground. You might not know but there is a lot of transformation that this rainy seasons always offer beyond what we even know of.
Take for example the farmers, they really prefer this rainy season because it allows them to plant and also harvest their farm crops. Not only that, there is this positive mood that the rainy season always offer either for our environment or as individual of us. But it also have it's own side effect. The side effect is during rainy season, there is always frequent cases of floods and much more which if not handle always result to loss of lives, properties and many more.
When it comes to the dry season on its own. This particular one always comes in after the harmattan season. Till now, I still use to wonder why is it that Nigerians did not categorise Harmattan as a season. Well that is another talk for another day. A lot of people did not like the dry season because of the unpleasant mood it gives either to our environment and as individuals. The dry seasons always come with a hot weather condition, making the ground dusty and for farmers, it prevents them from carrying out any activities on their farm.
Seeing all these, you will agree with me that each seasons comes with their own beauty that it offers and they are unique. Most of the time, I always use to imagine why is it that we can not have only dry season or rainy season all through the year. I now discovered that both seasons are needed to give perfection to the beauty of nature.
