Life is not smooth always, sometimes you get into a bumpy road where your feelings and faith are shaken. Even if say you're tough to face the challenges and problems, there willbalways be a life situation where it will affect you really hard. What's worst you have no one to talk to because you are afraid that they will judge you when you open it up to them. I have been in this situation so many times. I don't open up because I know what words I would hear. I've been there where I was saying what I felt to someone but then I was called "emotional drama queen". What a pity, right? But don't worry I train myself to be strong enough in front of everyone else but when I'm alone it's the time that all the emotions would come out. Being unstable both mentally and emotionally even in slightest things I get stress immediately. I think that's a normal reaction because if I feel okay I have a lot of patience in dealing with some things.
When feeling stress, what did I do to make myself feel okay?
Spend time with the nature
One of the best therapy that someone can have is spending time with the nature. It truly help me calm my mind and heart. The serene atmosphere, the fresh and cold air that I feel touching my face and many more beautiful sight to see is so refreshing. It can give peacefulness deep inside me and I can think clearly and reflect on the things that have happened in my life. It calm me which make me think of a better solutions about the problems and challenges I'm facing. Also, spending time with the nature while having a cup of coffee is the best solution for my troubled mind and heart. As a coffee lover, consuming a cup of coffee while watching the peaceful sorrounding makes me at peace. The sweetness, the bitterness, the creaminess of a coffee (whatever coffee flavor it is) gives a special effect on me. After a cup to coffee I also had the water bottle with me. Water is also one of the best drink to calm a person. Based on what I read when feeling angry or stress, drinking water helps calming ones senses and I can attest to that. I had been doing it since the time I learn about it and it's really effective to me. I don't know if it has the same effect to others.
Eating Delicious Food
Eating delicious foods can also calm me. Ice cream, cakes, hamburgers, fried chicken and so much more are like a medicine to my chaos mind. I know these mentioned foods aren't healthy to be taken but don't worry I seldom consume these foods. Yesterday, I did a stress eating. As you know my husband continued ranting in the middle of our sleep the other day so I only had a few hours of sleeps. I was mad of what my husband did so I as a result I was getting stress. I didn't talk to him when he woke up and continued ignoring him until lunch time. When I'm angry or stress, I prefer not talking because if I would talk it might lead to a bigger discussions ending in fighting verbally which may made me more stress. During lunch time, he bought spicy fried chicken for me and the kids. As I was eating and savoring the taste of the food slowly I'm feeling okay. When my husband approached and talk to me, I was already in the mood to talk him about some things. That's how easy my unstable emotion became stable. Hahaha
Another thing is through listening music that is pleasing to the ears and watching some comedy videos. Laughing is the best medicine. It only not stretches some muscles on our face, it also made us happy and feel alive once again.
Conclusion:
Every person has different ways in dealing stress. What's important at the end of the day is how you've overcome it. Don't forget to applaud and be proud of yourself for a job well done because handling stress is never been easy. Sometimes not being able to overcome it will lead to extreme anxiety and depression. So if you have someone who will listen and let you vent out all the bad feelings that you're feeling, let it out. Express it. Shout and cry to ease what you feel. What you're feeling is valid so do what made you think is best for yourself. Remember it's you alone who knows what you truly feel.
