The movie 2012 is a larger than life apocalypse film released in 2009 that you need to see. I watched this movie in theaters and still remember waiting to see it after the great previews and the advertisement campaign.
This was a blockbuster movie when it cane out, and the special effects still stack up to today's films. The movie shows how the end would come as the Mayan calendar ends in 2012. The rich of the world financed an ark to escape from the collapsing world, and that's a realistic depiction of what would happen. Makes you think about the recent tend of billionaires building bunkers around the world.
See this one on the biggest screen you can to give it justice. It's a great movie and you can see it on YouTube for free or most streaming services. Give your local public library a try as well.

Hahaha, classic. I loved that it went like one or two things beyond any reasonable scenario, and yet still tried to pretend it was a serious film. Come on, that's hilarious stuff! And decent graphics for the time as I recall.
