Miracle on 34th Street is the touching film from 1947 portraying the kindness and magic of Santa Claus. The film features the classic showdown between Macy's and Gimbel's and is all that is right with late 1940s post-war cinema.

Santa Claus is portrayed as a mall Santa who gets his starring role after saving the holiday parade from a drunken actor portraying himself.

I adore this film, and make it a mission to see it every holiday season. It's a classic and the warmth it portrays is authentic and worth the runtime. Santa Claus is defended in court, and the intelligence and sincerity behind this film makes it magical.

This is a must see that is available on most streaming services and for free on YouTube. Worth a watch to start the holiday movie series.
