Adam Sandler is an SNL icon from the golden age of the show. In the mid-1990s he released standup, comedic music and films that stand the rest of time. Happy Gilmore is such a film, and you can see it for free on YouTube.
Happy Gilmore was released in 1996, and this film is incredibly nostalgic for me. In this film, Adam Sandler plays an aggressive hockey player turned golf superstar in a twist of fate. The film has some noticable 1990s cameo and the main character is well developed and likeable.
Check out this film, even if you have seen it before you need a Friday laugh. I enjoy the slapstick comedy and thoughtfulness of the film. Its a very humanizing film with great characters.
Cheers!
Not my favourite by him, but it's a good one for sure. He has a lot of great stuff (especially from the 90s) which are even better than Happy Gilmore. Man, in the early 90s I used to work at Domino's Pizza on the late shift, and we'd have his comedy tapes playing in the back. "High school janitor", "Toll booth Willy", and so on... fuckin priceless. He didn't hold his tongue and I appreciate that. Comedy should not be censored.
Loved it! Classic Sandler and SNL was during this time. This film is pure nostalgia for me.
I love that movie, Adam Sandler was the perfect fit for this movie. R.IP Chubbs.
