Hopefully you've heard about the Peerhub+Blurt integration by now. It brings P2P, 4K, monetized, decentralised, multi-network-aggregated streaming to the world, better than Youtube or Spotify, and powered by Blurt.
We've created a media site for ALL BLURT USERS to livestream, and upload their videos and podcasts here:
Blurt.media
How does Blurt.media work?
- You login to the Blurt.media site with your Fediverse account (contact us for a peertube username)
- Livestream with OBS or just upload your media file (video, or audio-only)
- Fill in all the info about your media. More is better for discoverability.
- The @Blurt.media account posts/syndicates your media to hundreds of websites and apps
- Users upvote your stream. You earn 90% and @agorise takes a 10% cut to help pay the hosting bill, maintain the site and add new features.
- Reply to user comments on Blurt.media for even more user engagement and income.
- Embed your streams on your blogs and other social media pages.
Peerhub-powered sites get Millions of views and there are now hundreds of installs taking place as we speak. That's a lot more potential Blurt users, so please help us spread the word and turn that into THOUSANDS of installs!
How is Blurt.media better than other streaming platforms like Youtube?
- Zero ads. No logging, spyware or even KYC (such as your email address)
- Zero censorship. (nasty stuff can be removed though if really needed)
- 100% Free and Open Source (FOSS), using widely-supported tech and protocols
- Monetization from multiple blockchains, without having to sell-out to advertisers
- Aggregated networks (blockchains, mastodon, lemmy, pixelfed, etc) provide a more active comment section, which results in more shares, more views, and more income for the media Creator, as well as the audience in the comment section.
- All videos are automatically backed up and sync'd off-site via Minio/S3 to multiple slave nodes, in multiple data centers, in different countries.
- Streams are P2P, so multiple computers are serving the stream to you, rather than 1 huge conglomerate from a centralised, censorship-laden, corporate host.
- SYNDICATION - Youtube and others are "walled gardens". They do everything they can to force you to use their app and their website. They don't want you to scrape any content from their site and they certainly don't want you to access your favorite stream via RSS or third-party apps. Syndicated streams are discoverable from hundreds of websites and apps, which by itself is a great reason to upload to Blurt.media!
- RSS - Escape the walled gardens like Youtube or Spotify by promotion of your RSS link (see the Subscribe buttons around the Blurt.media site). Uploading to Blurt.media gets your content DISCOVERED.
Over the next week or so, we'll be adding some UI and UX enhancements. We still want to expand on the Peerhub "About" page, add a Blurt Trending page, add network-aggregated notifications, enable Subscribing other users regardless of which network they use (Blurt, mastodon, lemmy, hive, nostr, etc), and finally, make it so that viewers cannot see WHO voted on the video until they've voted on the post themself (so they stop kissing whale butt).

We have a lot more we want to do for the Blurt community, including #1 integration with the Cosmos ecosystem for interoperability with hundreds of other blockchains (swaps, bridges, smart-contracts, you name it), #2 integration with Jackal and Akash for blockchain-based data storage, and #3 bringing back the DBF/DAO so that Blurt users can vote on projects they like, and developers like us can actually build a hell of a LOT more on this chain. Blurt FTW! 💪
By the way...
We also run a Witness Node for the Blurt blockchain so PLEASE consider voting for us! Our node is called "agorise-witness"

Thanks @agorise, I have reBlurted this post for a few more eyes.
I'm a little slow on the technical side of things, being a humble content-creator and activist. But I've been creating video content since 2006 on YouTube, and more recently, various other video platforms. But I find Blurt has trouble recognizing, displaying, and rewarding good video content. For example, Blurtbooster doesn't see a video as anything more than a single photo, meaning if you upload a video without a lot of other content, it won't get supported at all. Some videos take me a day or two to put together, so it would be nice for them to get a bit more visibility and functionality. Thanks for your efforts toward that!
I'm interested to learn more about the Blurt.Media / Fediverse / Peertube stuff, and see if it applies to me.
I like the font used on the main BlurtMedia page, nice : )
Thank you so much drutter!
Syndication is everything, and getting people from different networks chatting with each other in the comments section results in way more views too, so I'm pretty sure this is huge for Blurt. Getting discovered. :)
Please join us in the Blurt chat on matrix if you get a chance and I will get your channel info from you there and all setup in just a couple minutes:
https://matrix.to/#/#blurt:matrix.org
Is there any chance that in future there will be no need of crating additional accounts but just login and uploading videos by directly use of blurt account?
There is a chance.
I'll look into it soon.
Nice! that will be a 💥
It's a nice project. I hope it can be maintained and developed regularly and doesn't become a select group of voters like 3Speak.
Congratulations @agorise
I have set up an account @peerhub.blurt which votes on every blurt.media post, I will also vote manually from my main account
Very nice project, congratulations and a big good luck! 😁
Thank you!
Building on Blurt is the way to go, please spread the word! :)
For sure I will try soon
Awesome! Please join us in the Blurt matrix channel if you can and we'll get your channel all setup. It only takes a couple minutes:

After I get fediverse password. Will I have to upload my videos to blurt.media directly or I will have the option to automatically import them from other sites - youtube, rumble, bitchute...?
Your choice.
Youtube does not allow anyone to scrape their site anymore though.
After logging in with Hive, I can't see comments
Thank you for the report, we'll check on that and include any fixes needed in the next release this week
