আমি দেখেছি কিছু মানুষ অতিরিক্ত বুদ্ধি খাটাতে গিয়ে। তাদের জীবনটাকে ধ্বংসের মুখে ঠেলে দেয়। আজকে আমি আপনাদের সাথে এমনই একটা ঘটনা শেয়ার করতে চলেছি।

ঘটনাটা ঘটেছিল যখন তখন আমি খুব ছোট ছিলাম। আমি যখন ক্লাস ফাইভে পড়তাম। তখন আমার বাবার অ্যাক্সিডেন্ট হয়েছিল। উনাকে ঢাকায় একটা হসপিটালে ভর্তি করানো হয়েছিল। এবং উনার অপারেশনের জন্য কার্যক্রম শুরু হয়েছিল। এবং আমার বাবা প্রায় এক মাস ওই হসপিটালে ভর্তি ছিলেন। এবং উনার অপারেশন সম্পন্ন হয়েছিল ওই হসপিটালে।

ওই হসপিটালে এমন একটা ঘটনা ঘটেছিল। যেটা আসলে আমার বাবা এখনো ভুলতে পারেনি, ঘটনাটা খুবই ভয়ঙ্কর।

হসপিটালে কোন একটা বড় কাজ শুরু হলে। অনেক ডাক্তাররা মিলে সেটাকে সম্পন্ন করার চেষ্টা করে।

তেমনই একটা ছেলে সে ওয়ার্ড বয় ছিল। আমার বাবাকে সবসময় দেখাশোনা করত, ছেলেটা অত্যন্ত নম্র ভদ্র এবং অনেক বেশি বুদ্ধিমান ছিল।

একদিন হঠাৎ করেই হসপিটাল এর মধ্যে এমন একটা রোগী আসলো। যার মাথায় সে বলছিল প্রচন্ড ব্যথা। কি জানি ওজন তার মাথার মধ্যে বসে আছে। ডাক্তার অনেক পরীক্ষা-নিরীক্ষা করে জানতে পারলেন। ওই ব্যক্তির মাথায় একটা ব্যাঙ বসে আছে। পুরো হসপিটালের মানুষ এ বিষয়টা নিয়ে আলোচনা করছিল।

আমি ঠিক জানিনা আপনারা আমার কথা কতটা বিশ্বাস করবেন। তবে যেটা সত্য সেটাই আমি আপনাদের সাথে তুলে ধরার চেষ্টা করছি।

ডাক্তাররা অনেকটা অবাক হলেন। কিভাবে এই ব্যাঙ লোকটার মাথা থেকে বের করবে। আমি আপনাদের বোঝার সুবিধার্থে বলে দিচ্ছি। আমাদের মাথার ভেতরে যে মগজ রয়েছে, সেখানেই ব্যাঙ টা বসা ছিল।

অনেক মিটিং বৈঠকের পরে একটা দিন নির্ধারণ করা হলো। লোকটার মাথা অপারেশন করা হবে। অপারেশন করতে গিয়ে ডাক্তার অনেকটা হয়রান হয়ে গেল। আসলে কিভাবে এটাকে ওখান থেকে বের করবে এই চিন্তায়।

আমি যেই ছেলেটার কথা একটু আগে আপনাদের সাথে শেয়ার করেছিলাম। সেই ছেলেটা ও ওই অপারেশনের রুমে উপস্থিত ছিল। সে যখন দেখল ডাক্তাররা হয়রান হয়ে গেছে। তখন সে নিজের বুদ্ধি কাজে লাগাতে শুরু করল।

পরে আমার বাবা ছেলেটার খুব খোঁজ করছিল। যেহেতু ছেলেটা আমার বাবাকে খুব পছন্দ করত দেখাশোনা করতো সব সময়। আমার মা ও ছিল সেখানে, তবে ঔষধ আনা গরম পানি করা এগুলা ছেলেটাই করত।

তাই হয়তোবা ছেলেটার প্রতি আমার বাবার অসম্ভব একটা টান সৃষ্টি হয়েছিল। পরবর্তীতে আমার বাবা যেদিন হসপিটাল থেকে বের হয়ে চলে আসবে। সেদিন কোন একটা লোকের মুখে জানতে পারলো। ঐদিন অপারেশনের পরে ছেলেটাকে ইনজেক্ট করে মেরে ফেলা হয়েছিল।
