গ্রাম বাংলার বনে জঙ্গলে পথে-ঘাটে বাড়ির পাশে। এই ফুল গুলো আমরা সবাই দেখে থাকি। এই ফুলগুলোর সাথে কমপক্ষে সবাই খুব কম বেশি হলেও পরিচিত। ফুলগুলো অসম্ভব সুন্দর, সাধারণ মাঝে হালকা মধ্যখানে লাল আকৃতির অল্প একটু চিহ্ন থাকায়, দেখতে অসাধারণ লাগে এই ফুলগুলো।

সত্যি কথা বলতে গিয়ে আমার জীবনে আমি প্রথম এই ফুলটার নাম জানতে পারলাম। আসলে কখনো জানা হয়নি, তবে এখন লেখার সুবিধার্থে অবশ্যই আমাকে জানতে হবে, এই ফুলের নাম কি। তাই ফুলের ফটোগ্রাফি ধরে গুগলে সার্চ দিয়েছিলাম। তারপর জানতে পারলাম এই ফুলের নাম ভাঁটফুল ।

এই ফুলের নাম যেমন আজব, ফুলটা দেখতেও অসম্ভব সুন্দর। বাগানের মধ্যে এখন চারিদিকে যেদিকেই তাকাই এই ফুলের গন্ধে চারপাশ মাতোয়ার হয়ে আছে। যেন এই ফুল ফুটে সাদা হয়ে আছে চারপাশ।

• বসন্তের ঠিক শেষ কয়েকদিনে এই ফুল গাছের দিকে তাকালে, এই ফুল গাছের অন্য এক রূপ দেখা দেয়। সব ফুল ঝরে গিয়ে এই গাছের মধ্যে অন্যরকম এক ফল ধরা শুরু করে, এক একটা সময় এই গাছ এক একরকম রং পরিবর্তন করে।

তবে এই গাছটি ভাঁট গাছ নামে পরিচিত হলেও। এর স্থানভেদে এর নামের মধ্যে অনেক পরিবর্তন রয়েছে। অনেকেই এটাকে ঘন্টা ফুল বলে জেনে থাকে। আবার অনেকেই এটাকে বন্যজুঁই ফুল নামেও চিনে থাকে।অনেকের কাছে আবার এটা ভাঁটি ফুল নামেও পরিচিত।

এই ভাঁট ফুলের ইংরেজি নাম wild Janine এর বৈজ্ঞানিক নাম হচ্ছে Clerodendrumviscossum vent

এই ফুলের গাছটি লম্বায় অন্ততপক্ষে ১৩ থেকে ১৫ সেন্টিমিটার হয়ে থাকে, চ্যাপ্টার হয়ে থাকে 11 থেকে 12 সেন্টিমিটার। এই ফুল গাছটি দেখতে গাঢ় সবুজ। অমিশ্রণ এই ফুল গাছের পাতাগুলো চারপাশে খাঁজ কাটা হয়ে থাকে। পাতার নিচে শিরগুলো অনেকটা মোটা মোটা স্পষ্ট হৃদপিন্ডের আকৃতির মত।

এই ফুলের পাতা খেলে যাদের কৃমি অসুখ এর সমস্যা রয়েছে। তারা খুব তাড়াতাড়ি ওই রোগ থেকে নিজেদেরকে সুস্থ করতে পারে। এবং গ্রাম্য কবিরাজি ক্ষেত্রেও এই গাছের পাতা ব্যবহার করা হয়ে থাকে। তবে এই গাছের পাতা অত্যন্ত তেতো।

এই ফুলের গাছগুলো অবহেলায় অযত্নে ধীরে ধীরে একটু একটু করে বড় হয়। বর্ষাকালে এই ফুলের গাছের নতুন পাতা গজায়। অসম্ভব গাঢ় সবুজ এই গাছের পাতাগুলো।

ফাল্গুন মাসের ঠিক মাঝামাঝি সময়ে এই গাছগুলো। তাদের নিজ রূপ নতুন করে আবারো ধারণ করে। ধীরে ধীরে গাছের মধ্যে ফুলের কলির সৃষ্টি হয়। আর ফাল্গুনের মাঝামাঝি বা শেষ দিকটায় এই ফুলগুলোর সারা গাছে ফুটে ওঠে।অসম্ভব সুন্দর চারপাশে এই ফুলের গন্ধে যেন মাতোয়ারা হয়ে উঠে

এই ফুল গাছের মধ্যে প্রচুর পরিমাণে ফ্ল্যাভোনয়েড থাকে।
ফ্ল্যাভোনয়েড থাকার কারণে ক্যান্সার নিরাময় খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে থাকে।

এছাড়াও চুলকানি, ব্লাড সুগার কৃমি,কোলেস্টেরল, এই সকল রোগ প্রতিরোধ করতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে থাকে। তবে এটা এখনো স্বীকৃতি দেয়নি কোন সরকারি কর্মকর্তা।

যদিও এই ফুল গাছগুলো আমরা রোপন করি না। কিন্তু অবহেলায় বড় হয়েও এটা আমাদের অনেক উপকার করে। এই ফুলের উপকার আমরা হয়তোবা চোখে দেখতে পাই না।তবে কোন একদিন আমরা ঠিকই উপলব্ধি করতে পারব। সৃষ্টিকর্তার এই সৃষ্টি জগতে কোন কিছুই কিন্তু তিনি অবহেলার জন্য সৃষ্টি করেননি।

বলতে বলতে অনেক কথাই বলে ফেললাম। এই ফুলের কিছু ফটোগ্রাফি আমি আপনাদের সাথে শেয়ার করছি। আশা করি আপনাদের কাছে ভালো লাগবে।

আমার বাড়ির ঠিক সামনেই রাস্তার মধ্যে প্রচুর পরিমাণে এই ফুলগুলো ফুটে আছে। আমার বড় ছেলে খেলা করার জন্য ফুলগুলো তুলে এনেছিল। আর আমি ওখান থেকেই কিছু ফটোগ্রাফি তুলে নিয়েছিলাম। আপনাদের সাথে শেয়ার করার জন্য।

Then I found out that the name of this flower is Bhanthul.
