Tourism is an industry that has become a part of people's lifestyle. It is not only a means of leisure, but also an opportunity to get acquainted with different cultures, traditions, and natural beauty. The tourism industry has developed as an important economic sector across the world and plays a huge role in the overall development of the country. The diversity of tourist destinations has enriched the industry and attracted tourists from all over the world. Tourism destinations in Bangladesh have immense potential. The country's natural beauty, historical monuments, and culture fascinate tourists. A large number of local and foreign tourists come to various tourist centers of the country throughout the year. The government, local communities and the private sector are working together to further develop tourism centers in Bangladesh.

Tanguar Howr, located in the Sunamganj district of Bangladesh is a picturesque wetland that has been attracting local and foreign tourists for its unique natural beauty. It is not only a tourist center but also considered as an important place for environment and biodiversity. Tanguar Howar is the second largest freshwater wetland in Bangladesh and was declared a Ramsar site in 1999, recognizing it as an internationally protected wetland.

টাঙ্গুয়ার হাওড়, বাংলাদেশের সুনামগঞ্জ জেলায় অবস্থিত একটি মনোরম জলাভূমি যা স্থানীয় ও বিদেশি পর্যটকদের আকৃষ্ট করে আসছে তার অপরূপ প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যের জন্য। এটি শুধুমাত্র একটি পর্যটন কেন্দ্র নয়, এটি পরিবেশ ও জীববৈচিত্র্যের জন্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ স্থান হিসেবেও বিবেচিত। টাঙ্গুয়ার হাওড় বাংলাদেশের দ্বিতীয় বৃহত্তম মিঠাপানির জলাভূমি এবং এটি ১৯৯৯ সালে রামসার স্থান হিসেবে ঘোষিত হয়, যা এটিকে আন্তর্জাতিকভাবে সংরক্ষিত একটি জলাভূমি হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি দেয়।

Tanguar Howr is slowly gaining popularity as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bangladesh. During the monsoons, the entire area turns into a huge reservoir, which is visited by many tourists. Tourists can enjoy the true beauty of Howrah while taking a boat trip here. Vast bodies of water, birdsong, and immense natural scenery fascinate tourists. When the water recedes in winter, there is an opportunity to get to know the lifestyle, agriculture, and local culture of the villages inside Howrah. How to reach

To travel to Tangua Howar, one has to go through Sunamganj from Sylhet. Almost all major cities of the country have communication system with Sylhet. Sunamganj can be reached directly by bus or microbus from Sylhet. From Sunamganj, Tanguar Howar is traveled by boat. Boating is the main attraction of Howrah, as through this you can go deep into Howrah and enjoy the beauty of nature up close.

Best time to travel

The best time to visit Tanguare Howar is monsoon season from June to September and winter from November to February. The Howrah is full of water during the monsoons, and then you can experience its beauty best by taking a boat ride. On the other hand, winter brings the arrival of migratory birds, which is a special attraction for bird lovers.
